After being away from fountain pens for a long time I found this one on Amazon for $20. (It has gone up since I bought mine.) It is a very attractive, solid pen. The included converter allows you to use bottled ink. The fine nib makes a fairly delicate line but allows the ink to flow fast enough to keep up with my writing speed. Like any good fountain pen, it writes effortlessly, needing only the weight of the pen to apply pressure to the paper. It glides smoothly over the paper and leaves a very solid line. The pen came in an attractive presentation box and included six ink cartridges as well. I haven't used the cartridges, but I remember them as being a needlessly expensive way to buy ink. The converter has a threaded shaft which drives a piston up and down in the ink reservoir. That's an excellent design which should last a long time. I have a technical fountain pen that I acquired over 60 years ago which uses a similar mechanism and it still works perfectly. Old style fountain pens used a rubber sac for the ink reservoir. Inevitably the rubber dried out and the sac started to leak. The piston converter is a very superior design. The one flaw I found with this pen is the cap does not fit securely on the barrel when I'm writing. Most people who write with fountain pens like to store the cap on the back of the pen (called "posting") when they are writing. It balances the pen and keeps you from losing track of the cap. If the barrel were tapered just a little more the cap would fit better. The nib on this pen is not replaceable. If you want a different nib than the one that comes with the pen look for another pen. If you're looking for a well made, solid pen that writes comfortably this one is hard to beat. I use an old bottle of Sheaffer Skrip Jet Black ink with this pen. It's the same ink I've used for many years. It is very dark black, flows nicely, dries quickly, and does not clog any pen I've used it with. You might get different results with other inks, some of which dry much quicker.

I am new to fountain pens, this Beiluner is a great pen! Very attractive, ink flows well, very comfortable. It has a Medium nib, nut writes like a fine. I ordered 2 other makers oens at the same time. I like them as well but this is my daily pen!

I enjoy using fountain pens, especially with a variety of ink colors. I originally set out to buy another Lamy fountain pen because I had previously found several of them on sale and had been very pleased with them. Instead, I came across a Beiluner fountain pen at a good price and decided to give it a try. That turned out to be an excellent decision. The first Beiluner was well made, attractive, had a satisfying weight in the hand, and was simply enjoyable to write with. I was pleased with it enough that I decided to buy this red Beiluner as my second pen from the company. Like the first one, this pen is well made, attractive, nicely balanced, and a pleasure to write with. In fact, I have received several compliments on my Beiluner pens—something that never happened with my Lamys. I gave this pen four stars because it is a high-quality, enjoyable writing instrument that fully met my expectations. I reserve five-star ratings for products that exceed my expectations, but I would certainly recommend this pen to anyone looking for an attractive, well-made fountain pen.

This pen comes in a very nice box that's leather, with 6 disposable cartridges and one reusable fountain cartridge that can be filled with any ink you want. The pen box cannot be understated for it's quality, I was very impressed. The pen has a incredible nib which doesn't scratch or stab the paper if you write the wrong direction and glides smoothly, also it writes beautifully and doesn't have any issues with clogging (at least so far with the disposable carts). I saw reviews talking about leakage, however I haven't noticed any of that whatsoever. Pure quality as far as functionality, no issues and it's actually much nicer than any of my other pens despite the price point. All that being said, the body of the pen is made of a glossy plastic. Plastic isn't the worst, but metal is much nicer. At least the pen won't rust away in 1000 years, instead it'll be in a future turtle's nostril in a post human world. To be fair the body of the pen hasn't gotten scratched yet during regular use, so that tells me the plastic is either pretty hard or the polish of the surface is exceptionally smooth. The clip on the pen is sturdy and tight unlike other pens, you won't lose this pen if it's clipped to something including a piece of paper. The lid also clicks onto the pen body and holds firmly further preventing any accidental loss or drops. If you're interested in getting a nice pen, but don't want to spend 100$, this is the pen for you! You won't be sorry with this purchase, that's the high and low of this review. I was going to rate this pen with 4 stars due to having a plastic body, but given the other largely positive factors, it gets an objective five stars today! Beiluner, if you send me a different pen for free I'd be more than happy to give it an accurate objective review for other consumers who are trying to decide which pen to buy!

If I'm going to write something down, I want to do it with a fountain pen. It elevates even a mundane to-do list. I've had good luck with Lamy Safari fountain pens, but I wanted something with a little more style. This pen is beautiful, and the ink flowed perfectly on the first try. And it comes in an really nice leather looking box. This would be a nice stocking stuffer.

Recently, my love of writing with a fountain pen was re-iginited, ironically, from listening to an audio book about an art store which sold fine pens, of all things. That led me to look for an inexpensive fountain pen that I could use for daily writing, anywhere, and the Beiluner pen hit all of the boxes for me. I was gifted a very expensive Mont Blanc Meisterstuck 149 decades ago, but hadn’t used it much because of its value. I love writing with fountain pens, and even lost a favorite Waterman years ago which I’ve never been able to replace. So, I on the hunt for an every day carry pen, and was very pleasantly surprised when I found the Beiluner fountain pen. Pros: - Inexpensive … only $37 USD ($27 with coupon) - Uses both cartridges AND converter (included … I only use well ink) - Distinctive styling with lacquered finish and 24K gold plated nib - Choice of medium or fine nibs (I prefer fine). - Nice gift box … great presentation for giving (I already bought 2 more as gifts!). - Writes smoothly, with even ink flow … it glides over the paper with no snagging, stuttering, or blotching. It’s literally smoother than a roller-ball pen. - Honestly, the experience rivals my Mont Blanc but at a fraction of the price ($37 USD vs. ~$$$Insane.00 USD) Cons: - Literally None! Testing: I’ve been journaling my travels (at home after I return) using the Mont Blanc. It never leaves the house because I’d be heart broken if I ever lost or dropped it. To put the Beiluner to the test, I’ve been alternating between the two, and have written several pages over the last several days with both pens. I almost prefer writing with the Beiluner, only because of its fine nib (the Mont Blanc came with a medium nib) and the way it glides over the pages, the same as the Mont Blanc. With its narrower barrel, it fits my hand much better than the thicker Mont Blanc, and I find I can write longer without hand fatigue. Conclusion: So, if you couldn’t already tell, I highly recommend the Beiluner for its affordability, smooth writing feel, consistent ink flow, and ergonomic feel in my hand. I know some may shade me for for comparing a premium Mont Blanc with an Amazon special, but I’m fortunate enough to have access to both and provide this honest review for anyone who is curious just how good these pens are. Also, my review is mine alone, not sponsored and I paid for my this pen like everyone else. And yes, I’m keeping it and any other pens I review in the future.

Great starter pen. I tried a different cheap one and thought fountain pens weren’t for me, but took a chance on this one and now I may never go back. It comes with a converter so you can use the included cartridges or you can fill it with your own ink. Very smooth and easy to write with.
