Installation was easy enough, drill through the door with a 16mm drill, I ended up buying the draper one from desertcart because I wasn't certain I had one, or would be able to find it. Think about where you want it installed (hight, can it be used from the inside, anything inside the door like parts of the lock, etc), measure twice and then start. Drill through the door, and then install. The viewer unscrews to separate into 2 pieces, so one on each side of the door and then tighten up. The inside part, under the movable cover, has a couple of slots to use to really tighten, I used the back of an old knife so I could get some leverage. This viewer is suitable for any type of door (Can't remember the thickness range) providing you can drill through to fit it. Regardless of the material be it wood, PVC or anything else it just needs the appropriate size drilled hole.
