Installation
I chose this item over others because of previous ratings. I originally intended to buy a wireless product. It was delivered promptly and well packaged. However, I live in Spain and delivery was not available and so I had it delivered to my daughter in UK. She brought it to me when on vacation to us.Because of the heat I have laid up my Motorhome for July and August and so was under no pressure to complete the installation in one go. So I decided to do it in 4 easy, well thought out chunks ( I am not very practical nor am I an auto electrical mechanic - the instructions in a very minor way catered for this)Stage 1. Discreet installation of the 20 metre cable inside the 'van from central internal cupboards, down corner rear/right hand walls using slimline counduit where it might show and drilled hole through floor having checked underneath first.Stage 2. Laid 20 metre cable under van following some existing wiring looms but taking greater care avoiding exhaust tubes. Brought it up into engine compartment and was lucky enough to find a spare grommitted hole leading into the driver's side of the cab at the fuse box. This job was more irksome and tedious than difficult.Stage 3. Using separate piece of wire with a chocbox connection I joined the Black earth to the main body in the engine compartment. Using a separate piece of wire I connected to a spare live terminal on the live terminal battery platform. I then joined this to the Monitor live (Red) using an "in - line" fuse holder with a 2amp fuse. I then proved the system and it worked, However, although the monitor has an on/off button - in the off mode it reverts to "Standby" and is still drawing power from the battery albeit very minor. So I installed an independent, dashboard on/off switch to the "additional" wire leading directly from the battery. All wiring and spare 20 metre cable is secured and out of sight behind the fuse box cover.Stage 4. Securing Monitor & Camera. Bent and molded shape of monitor stand to shape of facia to right of drivers instrument panel and used existing adhesive sticker. Seems quite firm. Final Put off - drilling through the motorhome for the first time. OK sounds obvious but!!! If I had measured up from the outside and drilled from the outside into the central point I would have drilled into a half inch cupboard partition!. So with great trepidation I drilled from the inside out in the close vicinity of where I had laid the end of the 20 metre cable in Stage 1. With hole made of sufficient size - checking inside and outside at each drill size change, I then inserted the camera lead and attached it to the 20metre cable. This enabled me to fix the camera to the van without it dropping. I secured the camera mounting to the van centrally using self tapping screws and loads of sillicon . I tried to short cut by fixing the camera as a whole unit. Bite the bullet and strip it out of its mounting and fix the mounting only, then re-assemble. Useless piece of information at this stage: age 60 plus, up a ladder, doing a balancing act, dropping tiny screws and washers - never to be found again - Spread a blanket under the ladders. So the camera is now mounted centrally but the wire is above and offset - the difference is barely noticeable. Used the waterproofing grommit supplied for the hole in the 'van with loads of silliconJob doneSo was all of this in the instructions? - No. Would some wiring hints have been useful? - yes but not provided. Would some general and optimum camera fixing alignments have been useful? - yes but not provided. And so the product is excellent hence the 5 stars. The instructions are less so and only concentrate on matching up the correct male and female sockets. A step by step layman's installation instruction would cost peanuts and would be extremely helpful irrespective of the different types of vehicle to which this system could be installed.

reversing Kit
This is a very good value piece of kit.....Just make sure you test it out before fitting. The monitor great quality picture in colour, the camera good size view.....but when connected to the 20mt extension lead no picture. As this comes from Germany there is no tech support and as it is a third party sale ..all you can do is return it to amazon for a refund.I had painted the camera white as no white available, took some advice from a member on motorhomefun site and checked to see if it all worked before fitting . Just as well, as the extension lead when connected lost the picture. Probably only needed a new cable BUT as third party sale, no one to speak to ....so all back ,how annoying.Amazon good as ever, yodel to pick up and a refund, but back to square one....take care with third party sellers with electrics, no advice phone line so works or return.

Great kit
One of the more expensive reversing kits on Amazon, but it is very well put together and worth it. This kit was fitted to a Mercedes Sprinter based Luton with the camera fitted to the top part of the box above the roller shutter. The cable that runs between the camera is so long it could easily do a bus or coach. Only downside in the kit I was supplied is the glass that covers the camera was cracked down the middle in front of the lens, however I didn't have time to return it and because the glass is so close to the lens, it is barely visible on the screen. One big plus point is that you only need to run one power cable to a splitter box, that is then fed to the camera and monitor via the supplied cables - a great time saver. My only slight concern would be finding a replacement cable if the old one failed for some reason - unless I am mistaken, it is unique to this kit. I certainly haven't come across it before. The monitor is a reasonable resolution and the controls are easy to use. The image can be set back to front or upside down, allowing you to position it and set it up however you please. There is also a second input, so you could plug in another camera, or DVD player if you wished. It has a small built in sun shield, but I can't comment on the effectiveness due to a lack of sun. Gut feeling would be that it probably doesn't shroud the monitor enough to do much. The screen itself however, is of the more non-reflective type. The mount for the monitor has a sticky pad on the base, but it isn't really up to the job, especially if the dash has any curvature. Thankfully, the base is a thin flexible metal that can be bent into shape and there are four dimples on the feet that can be drilled out so the monitor can be screwed into the dash. (If you don't mind that!)The camera gives a decent picture and provides a fairly wide angle without being overly distorted. The casing seems made well enough that it should survive British weather! One feature that I thought was a great idea when I bought the kit, was the ability to wire it up to the reverse light, so the monitor only switches on when reverse is engaged. Ironically, the instructions suggest you don't bother, as if you are going backwards and forwards to manoeuvre into a space, the monitor will be blinking on and off like a strobe light. On that basis I didn't bother wiring it up. It's a novel selling point for the kit, but actually you probably are better off without it.So there you go, a decent bit of kit that is well made throughout, easy to install and very good value for money even if it does cost a little more than some others.
