In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Perfect but the redesigned sneaker runs small relative to its predecessor
This is my sixth pair of Asics Gel Resolution tennis sneakers. Obviously, I love the line! They're comfortable, requiring no break-in whatsoever, and provide excellent support, cushioning, and comfort on the court. The soles are durable, and in my experience seem to last much longer than those of other sneakers.Beware! I was warned by several friends that the updated design (Resolution 6) ran small and narrow compared to the Resolution 5. Indeed it did! I had to go up half a size. Most friends went up either a half size or full size. Aside from that, the shoe is perfect.

Great court shoe with arch support & gel padding.
Great tennis / court shoes. Felt fine first time I wore them for a two hour session. (And my feet are not happy in just anything—I need serious arch support.) The gel insoles are especially nice. Nice looking, compact. No break in period. I'm impressed! Great upgrade from my previous cheap tennis shoes, which made my feet hurt for hours after playing, due to lack of support.

Shoe is narrow!
They look like they would be awesome tennis/pickleball shoes but unfortunately were way too narrow for me. I returned them and purchased a similar shoe from KSWISS in a regular medium B width and those fit perfectly. I would only recommend the Ascis in a B width if your feet are on the narrow side.

Great Shoe!
Let me begin by saying I love Asics shoes. I have been wearing them for my running/walking shoe for several years. I gave this shoe 4 stars only because I would love it if Asics would just improve the ventilation of the Gel Resolution 3! Since they haven't, I bought the Gel Resolution 6. When I re-entered the tennis world, I looked for a tennis shoe that would be similar to a running shoe in the support it offers. I first tried the Nike Air Vapor. It was a good shoe, but felt sort of clunky. It wore out in a short amount of time, but that isn't my concern as much as support is. My next shoe was Asics Gel Resolution 3. That shoe feels like a running shoe! I feel like I can run around the court easily, without the chunky feeling of the Nike shoe I had, or the Prince T22 I wore next after this shoe. The problem, though was the lack of ventilation. My feet would be soaking wet after 2 hours of play. Next I tried the Prince T22 for better ventilation. They do offer the ventilation, are very sturdy, but they trip me up when I play because they feel bulky. I ordered the Asics Gel Resolution 6 hoping to get back to the Asics support with more ventilation than the previous 3s I owned.I have played in these Asics Gel Resolution 6 about 3 times. They do require a short break in, unlike the Gel Resolution 3s. They feel a bit stiffer than the Gel Resolution 3, and seem a bit sturdier. They rubbed on the inside of foot near at the top of the shoe the first couple of times I wore them. Today I wore them to play competitively, and completely forgot that they are new. There was no rubbing, no blisters, just a shoe that felt good. I felt light and fast, just like I did in the 3s, but I never had wet feet!

Worth the price!
I love these. This is my 2nd pair of Resolution 6s and before that I went through 2 pairs of Resolution 5s. They are very comfortable. I play tennis, including drills, 5 days per week, for a total of 11 -12 hours. I wear out soles very quickly. These last 2-3 times as long as other - less expensive- tennis shoes I have tried.I am a size 8 usually, and can wear the 8 in these, but I find the 8.5 to be more comfortable. I also put a very thick heal cup inside the shoe, which doesn't take up much length, but may have some impact on my 8.5 preference.I find these shoes to be very stable on the court - the 6s even more than the 5s. I do have issues with foot pain from time to time, which is why I chose to try these initially. The sole is very supportive even without the heal cup.Well worth the money, especially when you consider how long the sole lasts.

Love this shoe!
They fit a little larger but I saw the reviews and ordered 9 and a half instead of 10 and they fit perfect. Love this shoe! Stability and comfort are amazing. Took them out of the box and wore for four straight 12 hr shifts as ER nurse with no problems. Definitely recommend!!!

Comfortable, fit well
Use these for pickleball. They fit well and don't hurt at all. I like the thick soles. Will get another pair, which is high praise for me.I have a hard time finding my size in stores so appreciate the convenience of shopping on line. I like the wild colors, too.

Top of sneaker rubs my skin off on my inner ankle...
Sure, it always takes a bit of time to break in new tennis shoes, especially when you only play twice a week, but meanwhile the inside top of the shoe is rubbing into my inner ankle so bad that I've had to quit trying after using multiple band aids and even put padding in there to prevent rubbing. Felt nice when I first tried them on, but they are not comfortable with this rubbing all the time on the court. Poor design. Wish I had returned and not tried to work with them. All the great reviews must be from people with different shaped feet!
