Hi, I bought this radio to listen to air band - I live only a few miles from an airport, but can’t get anything. tried everything, Help please

To get the best reception of aircraft transmission from a local airport try to find out what frequencies they use. Just put the main frequency for approach or tower should assist. Keep a list of what works. There is lots of information about aircraft reception on line.

The antenna has 125mm from the hinge screw and it has 7 segments.
