Can you connect two or more strands together?

Dear Customer, This string light supports an end-to-end connection of up to 17 strings, allowing you to customize the length you need. And it is very easy to connect, here is a video for you to know more about our product, if you have any other questions, please let us know:)

What is the lumen rating for these bulbs?

Hi, the lumen rating for these bulbs is 28 lumens and you can search B07DN94P21 (Pack of 25 G40 Led Replacement Light Bulbs ) on Amazon to buy replacement bulbs if you need : )

are these more white or amber?

I'd say more amber. They give off a soft, warm glow not a bright one.

Do most of you think these really need a dimmer? Mine will be 45 feet away on a fence, not right up on my patio.

No, they should be perfect that far away. We have ours in a tree and sit about twenty feet away and they give a nice amount of light but are not to bright to look at.
