Good Guided Activity for Young Children
My daughter is almost 13 and was able to build these herself. After building them, she hasn't really used them at all, but that's likely due to her age; these types of things don't capture her attention much anymore. A younger child (6 - 10 range) would probably be very interested in this kit, but children of that age will need help. The hardware is small, so adults may have issues placing screws, etc, but younger children will need the guidance. The box does not show pictures of the finished products; it simply states that it contains a "STEM Kit". The kit includes all of the hardware necessary, a set of paints, two paint brushes (fine brush and larger brush) and a precision screwdriver. Each kit consists of two bags; one contains the wood pieces, and one contains the hardware and motor. In order to assemble all 4 mobile dinosaurs, you will need to supply a total of 8 AA batteries; the batteries are not included. At first I was a bit alarmed that there was no manual in the box, and then I found that there were instruction sheets in the individual wood kits. That was actually a very good choice - that way the manual can't be lost. Some of the translation on the packaging could use more work (the Triceratops was referred to as a "Triangle Dinosaur" on the instructions in that kit), but the instructions could be followed to successful completion. This would make a good "rainy day" or "no school day" activity for kids in the 6 - 10 year age range.

Directions are minimal. Quality is mediocre. Would not recommend for kids under 9-10 years old.
