AcuRite Portable Digital Thermometer for Indoor or Outdoor Temperature with Carabiner Clip (00333)

This is a great little item. I bought it to see what changes there were in temperature on my morning walks and it showed me those changes pretty quickly. It's easy to read in low light, just hooked it to my belt loop with a carbiner and got going. Also used it to see how hot it gets in a parked car (very!) and though it hit over 140° F, no harm was done to the thermometer. For the money it's a useful, fun tool.

I purchased this thermometer specifically to monitor temperatures inside my vehicle while traveling with my dogs, and it has been a great addition to my gear. The readings have been accurate and easy to read, which gives me peace of mind when checking conditions for my pets. I appreciate being able to quickly see the temperature rather than relying on estimates or guessing. The attached carabiner is one of my favorite features. It makes it easy to clip onto a backpack, camping equipment, vehicle organizers, or anywhere else I want to keep it handy. It’s lightweight, portable, simple to use, and has proven to be very reliable. For anyone who enjoys camping, road trips, outdoor activities, or traveling with pets, I think this is a useful little tool to have on hand

Very Disappointed. It took over 20 minutes to go from an outside temp of 84° to record the indoor temp of 76°. There’s no reset button to zero out min and max temps. Temp range on package: 32°F to 122°F! Way overpriced for a very poor thermometer. I’ll likely discard and look for a more versatile indoor/outdoor thermometer. Good luck!

I like this little thing, but have encountered some dislikes as well. first, the battery compartment sucks. Lets be honest about this. This battery compartment is not moisture resistant. Do not use this thermometer in high moisture areas. Now that that is out of the way. This thermometer is great in every other way. Its easy to use. it does exactly what it says it will do. the design is a bit big and bulky for what it is as there are others on the market that are smaller, but this is still a great unit. I use mine when hiking mostly, and in the tent. Its been a great for the dollar purchase. Readability has been very easy, never an issue there. I have had the battery compartment come open on me a couple times which made me take notice that this is not a good unit for high humidity environments for long term visits. If traveling through its fine, but if you plan to use this long term, I would reconsider for something with a weather sealed design Battery life has been EXCELLENT. Durability I cant complain about either. Mine is attached to a hiking bag, and gets beat up pretty regularly. I waited for nearly a year before writing this review on purpose. I tend to do that because I want to know what a product is going to do before writing a review. This thermometer has definitely held up to so high heat and sub zero temps for extended times. Its been on a few bike packing trips and camping trips, its been packed into a box for a couple months at a time as well. I've never taken the battery out for any reason. It just keeps working!

-1 star because it doesn’t have an on/off switch -1 star because it’s SO SLOW to update the temperature. It takes way too long to reach ambient temperature to be useful for QUICK temperature readings. I wanted to know how hot the surface of a synthetic turf field was in the recent heat wave we had in the PNW. I hooked it into a soccer net to record the temperature a couple inches above the surface of the turf and left for 15 minutes. I came back and took a picture of the 114° reading, then stood out there for 10 MORE minutes to see it go from 114° to 123°. I was cooking out there and figured it was enough time so I grabbed it and walked off the field. I looked at it again and saw it went up to 128°!! Takes about 90 seconds to get a new reading…. Like come on

As advertised. Works great, simple, does the job. Haven’t used in cold weather as of yet but don’t think it will be an issue

I bought this to put on my backpack so that we'd know the lowest overnight temperature, which is mostly a bragging rights exercise for the scouts. It tracks the high and low over the past rolling 24 hours. It's small enough to not get in the way, but the display is still readable even after getting wet. I like that the case helps protect it. Before this there was always an argument about which weather source to use to find the temperature, now I just make sure this is exposed and we can all read it.

This thermometer only seems to measure in Degrees F & not Degrees C

Cannot display Celsius

Rubbish. Only works in Fahrenheit. Cannot be made to work in Centigrade! Mine went straight in the recycling...lesson learnt.

Doesn’t show Celsius only Fahrenheit.

Display only in Fahrenheit so not great. Bought for camping.
