RENOVA MEDICAL WEARPost Surgery Front Closure Bra

Post surgical
I purchased this bra to wear for support after my breast implants but it didn't have a lot of support due to the material, however, once I was released from restrictions I was able to wear it and it was actually very comfortable for me. I still wear it occasionally.

Soft and comfy, wish I'd looked for one sooner
I needed something to wear after my open heart surgery a couple weeks ago when I found out they didn't provide any kind of chest brace out anything.(I was later told that they were supposed to tell me to wear a bra 24/7 so I'm really glad I took it upon myself to find something)I hate sports bras and knew it would be even harder to put one on after having an 8 inch vertical incision. This is easy to put on, soft and even flattering.I needed it to have some compression so it is snug but not tight. I normally wear an XL shirt and a 42 E (DD depending on the sizing) bra so I went with the biggest one, the XXL and hoped for the best. It's a perfect fit and I wear it all day and night. When i found out I was supposed to be wearing one all the time I went looking for more that were a little cheaper but this is still a very good bra for the price.I know the pic is weird but for reference I'm 5'5" and about 185# and normally wear a 42 E bra with an underwire, no padding. If you're having surgery with a vertical incision this could work for you as well. The band goes over the lower part of my incision and isn't painful. I wouldnt recommend it for a clamshell (under bust) incision though.I will probably continue to wear this style of bra going forward when it doesn't matter what it looks like.

REORDERED 3 More....
Here's a review for the post-surgery front closure bra:"I recently had a breast reduction surgery and finding the right bra post-operation was crucial. After trying several options, I reordered this front closure bra, and it's been a game-changer! The front closure design makes it incredibly easy to put on and take off, which is a blessing when mobility is limited post-surgery. The material is soft and gentle on sensitive skin, providing the support I need without causing any discomfort. The adjustable straps ensure a customized fit, which is essential during the healing process when swelling can fluctuate. Overall, I highly recommend this bra to anyone undergoing breast reduction surgery. It's comfortable, supportive, and truly makes the recovery process a lot smoother."

Not impressed
Needed some front closure bras after my breast surgery and I tried many of the bras found on Amazon including this one. I like this bra, but I do not love it. It is way softer and a slightly lower cut than the fruit of the looms ones, but being post surgery, I wanted something with a bit more support. And honestly, this was a bit expensive for what the product is. It is very similar to the fruit of the loom front clasp bras, so I would just get some of those rather than this one. When my swelling was worse, this bra was quite uncomfortable as I felt that the bra would lift and the bottom edges of the bra would dig into the scars on my side. I got a 2XL and now that my swelling has gone down completely, it is a more comfortable fit. However, If you're looking for something with great support, equally soft, reasonable price and lower cut to wear with those lower cut tops, I recommend the Wacoal women's wirefree mastectomy bralette (from Macy's).

Super Comfortable
I bought this bra for post-surgery comfort, and it didn’t disappoint. So easy to put on, easy to fasten & unfasten. Very soft & lightweight. Nice supportive fit.

Surgical bra, The Only Bra I can use
This bra is the only bra that feels comfortable against my boobs after breast reduction. The material doesn’t irritate my boobs. This is a really good bra, my problem is that I just had breast reduction, now this size too big, need to go down a size.

Soft and comfy as final bra - understand your post surgery journey
I think it's important to write this review because as I was at the beginning of my breast surgery journey, I found out that many reviews out here were positive or negative. Nothing in between. So, I did a spreadsheet with different bra models based on reviews and various medical articles. I found out about the various healing stages and what type of bra it needs.Surgery day and until first post op apt: Understand here that your body went through trauma and there's a swelling going on (about two sizes up your target size) and bandages, drains, medical tapes etc... whatever you get. You need a bra that has stretchiness to it. Fabric should be something like elastan and polyamide. Two rows of j-hooks in the front and possibly shoulder front closure with multiple row j-hooks too. Why? Because swelling will go down a bit in that first two weeks and you need compression. Also your nurse will love you for making her life easier when she will dress you post surgery.Between first post op apt and final post op apt (week 1 to 5): you'll need another stretchy bra, like the first one but one size down. The swelling will go down dramatically during this time but with everything that's going on, your skin needs to heal. You'll sleep in your bra, you'll have a specific routine given by your surgeon. After final post op apt (week 6 and beyond): this is where this bra is coming in because all swelling is down and incisions are healed but soft. You don't need to play with random sizes anymore. The Renova bra is soft, only one set of j-hooks as front closure. No j-hooks on shoulders. It's more a back to normal bras life type of purchase. It fits small so go one size up.

Comfortable to where all day
Good support post surgical bra. Not too tight, very comfortable. Easy to put on with front closure. There is no padding if that is what you are looking for. Price is reasonable as this is a bra i wore post surgery only.

This item came to me USED
I am beyond disappointed. I’ve been waiting for this second bra to help in my recovery and it arrived used, not only was there no sale tag/packaging etc the tag on the inside of the bra had been cut off! It had obvious wear around the band with pilling, and was stretched out..!
