Run Quietly & Quickly
I contemplated using WD Red SSDs instead of HDDs as I've heard many complaints about noisy HDDs in NAS. I specifically selected the 6TB variant as it appears to be the largest NAS HDD variant with 5400 RPM; HDDs rated for 7200 RPM are considerably louder and generate more vibrations in the NAS.These 5400 RPM disks are excellent and quiet, would recommend them for anyone looking to build a quiet NAS, without spending 3x the money on WD Red SSDs.

Fast and Silent
These are fast and most importantly they are quiet. Very quiet. This is not true I understand of the other sizes only the 12TB

Great drives, slightly noisier running than the Pro versions, but cheaper too.
I purchased these to replace my old two 2Tb drives in my Synology NAS. I just needed more storage space so 10Tb was a great choice. They perform well and installation was a breeze thanks to the copy software that allows one new drive to be copied from the old drive, then when that's done, whack in the second drive.I wasn't prepared to fork out on the much more expensive Silent Pro version so these Red Plus were a good compromise.Yes they are noisier than the silent Pro ones, but I can't say the very slightly louder running speed is a distraction.Swings and Roundabouts really

Trustworthy Storage
I have been purchasing HDDs for many decades now and I am sticking to the Western Digital brand because I trust WD to reliably store my data (all personal, including many TB of family video). Some HDDs are on 24/7 with constant access and can get hot, especially when the ambient temperature is high during summer, and I choose WD Red for these more demanding uses.As a personal user, I carefully pick the size and style (e.g. Green Blue Black Red, Red Plus, Red Pro) to give the best price per TB and performance for intended usage. I am paranoid about preserving data and have a rigorous strategy of redundant usage and multiple backups which I have had to prove on occasions due to human error.I do not expect HDDs, from any brand, to last forever though some are still going strong after 20 years with no hint of degradation. In my experience, a few % of HDDs start to show signs of problems after 5 years, and I constantly monitor the raw read error count. These WD HDDs keep going reliably with 100% data integrity for years after the first signs of problems, allowing me time to choose how to retire/replace. I have never had a WD HDD fail catastrophically, it is always a graceful degradation, hence why I trust WD to look after my data.

Avoid Top IT, selling used drives as new
Top IT sent as new, was sealed, but drive had scratches on top and dust on the bottom, clearly used!

Very robust and long lasting.
I have four of these in a server running on Raid. they are 8 years old and still working well. This latest purchase was bought as a spare for the four in the server in case one fails. So far I have not needed it and it remains on the shelf ready in case one fails

WD Red Plus 6TB
I bought this WD Red Plus to use with a Synology DiskStation DS124 1 Bay Desktop NAS. Buying the 2 separately I saved a considerable sum of money. I therefore anticipated some difficulty installing and setting it up. I was wrong. Installation and setup were very straightforward. The drive, in use, is completely silent. So far I am very pleased.
