What is the tread size? i have a brew kettle with 1/2" npt female that is welded on the bottom.

It is a bulkhead fitting, it will not fit the 1/2” not fitting. I made the same mistake ordering this one thinking it would fit and had to return it.

will this work in a curved surface, for an 11" diameter pot?

I put mine on a 12” diameter pot. it worked just fine. It should work for an 11”. In my opinion you have options if it leaks: use a high temp caulk on the outside of the pot, where the valve and pot meet. Or trying to find a thicker O ring. Hope this helps. Good luck I had to remove the blue rubber handle cover. It started to melt.
