The colored side stays really soft even after washing. and the different heat settings get really hot, i almost always only use 1-4 of the settings. the material and use seems to keep up pretty well. Con: after being on for hours sometimes the blanket gets cooler than when you first turned it on. This is bound to happen though, so i just turn it up one and it gets hot again. This is my 4th Bedsure heated blanket. I bought my first last year and it still cranks, I use it everyday as we have a big drafty house and a heating pad is too small. I got tired of moving it from my work area to the bed so i bought one for our bedroom and another for the guest room. This one is for my partners lap.
