Cons: Challenging to put together. It took me several hours and one injury. The plastic hammer they give you does very little in the way of helping. It has a metal tip, but without any weight behind it, it's basically a plastic toy hammer. So you're stuck using your physical weight, which can lead to pain. Pros: Very sturdy. Looks nice. Totally worth the pain and effort to put it together. Would still recommend. All the parts were there. It's large and holds all of my yarn (I have a ton). Even though it's large, it's light and easy to move where you want it. I had not trouble lifting it on top of my dresser. You could use it to store many things, but the shelfs do bend a little when you have heavier items, so I wouldn't recommend anything too heavy. You can always test it out. Also, I knew what I was getting into, because I read the reviews and there were warnings about how difficult it could be to put together. It's not complicated. Just physically difficult when you're tiny and weak like me. XD

Overall, I am very happy with the cubbies. It is perfect for closet organization and seems sturdy. However, this is extremely difficult to put together. The plastic connectors do not go on easily, it takes a lot of strength and finagling, even with the included mallet, to get them to snap on to the dividers. I couldn’t do it all in one sitting, it was frustrating and physically taxing. Way more difficult than a regular flat pack furniture assembly. I personally wish I just bought a cheap wooden cubby shelf. BUT, and this is a big but, there are some things that give this system the edge if you are willing to deal with the assembly: 1. The customization options are endless. You can choose exactly how to configure the cubbies, you are not locked in to a square. 2. It is very lightweight, would be great for a dorm room. I can pick it up with one hand, or you could break it down and pack it in a small box. Moving would be super easy. 3. Depending on how you configure this, you can break it into multiple shelving units, so great value for money. 4. You can seamlessly expand it by buying additional sets.

My closet had previously been the portal to hell for over 6 months now. It was overrun with years of crap I no longer needed and my shoes were all over the floor because I had no place to put them except for a cheap, useless shoe rack that the shoes would fall off of. The closet was also overtaken by our dog who uses it as a bomb shelter when fireworks or the ever-frequent south Florida thunderstorms roll in. I took action. Went online for hours reading reviews here on Amazon. I decided to purchase this product for my shoes. It's fantastic. The manufacturer appears to be thoughtful about the quality of the product as well as how it was packaged. The packaging for the connectors seemed a little sadistic - 4 connectors in tight plastic sleeves that had to be cut carefully - but I was grateful they packaged them or else they'd be everywhere. The product is made well and went together easily. Just follow the directions. My only quibble is that the directions could have shown a close up of how the connectors should be positioned, but I've put together products like these before and it's not rocket science. As other reviewers have mentioned, the weight of the plastic that makes up the shelves is not strong enough for books. But this is not a bookcase. It's for organizing your lighter stuff. Shoes, clothing, hats, art supplies, stuff like that. I was able to put all my shoes in it along with some toiletries and I'm quite happy with it. It also looks nice. Maybe not as nice as a custom built closet unit but it gets the job done quite well.

The shelf unit itself is quite sturdy. When I connected everything, I heard a click and knew that's when the pieces were into their correct spots. Everything fits snugly and there nothing is loose or gaping. I don't have heavy things on it so I can't comment on each cubes durability in itself but overall I think it's a good value for your money if you want to store toys, clothes, shoes, on it. My package came with a few extra connectors, but the exact number of panels that was specified. I managed to build 17/18-ish cubes with the top row missing backs. If you want to build a design that's different from what was recommended (the 4x4 or the 5-4-3-2-1), I recommend you draw out the designs beforehand and count out how many panels and connectors you need before physically attempting to build it. It's a bit difficult to take the connectors apart and you'll get frustrated in the end once you realize you don't have all the pieces you need to build your desired shape. Note that with each unique configuration, the number of panels differ because you might lose out on a shared panel, thus might think you're missing a piece when you really aren't. They stated the pack comes with 56 pieces and that's what I got. (I do wish it came with 57 because I was able to figure out a few more designs with 57 panels). There is a bit of an odor but it doenst necessarily smell bad. It doesn't bother me that much but I did wipe it down with some disinfectant wipes and sprayed some perfume on it. The smell still lingers, but again, it doesn't smell bad so it doesn't bother me that much, but I do wish it was odorless.

This product is extremely easy to put together, I love the look, and I love that it is super lightweight and reconfigurable. I also love that the connector pieces that hold the panels together because they work very well. BUT I find it to be overpriced for what it is; it is super thin sheets of plastic. If you want something that can actually hold books and anything that is over a pound or two but still like the “wood” look I recommend doing what I did and getting a metal wire shelving unit and mix the pieces together. I put the same amount of books, which weren’t that heavy, onto the plastic and it sagged almost an inch, meanwhile the metal shelf doesn’t not have that same problem. I wish that they made shelves that had the plastic wrapped around the metal. (In the photo of the completed product fully set up in my room, the pig Lego set and my boots are on the plastic shelves, the rest of the books are on the metal shelving.)

Nice for the price. Somewhat sturdy. Perfect to store light items like yarn, purses, I would not recommend for children's toys, it will fall apart if you push down on it. The rim is a metal frame with a thin plastic like middle piece that acts as the sides and shelves. Snaps together pretty easily once you get the idea of it. I like that its adjustable to fit your needs. Whether u want a 2 cubby hole or 6. I recommend for any type or light organization. If you dont have patience buy one already built.

Fun to install, you can shape it however you like, sturdy, and spacious.

Easy to assemble. It looks cool and absolutely useful. You even can arrange it like 4x4, or any other customization. It looks stylish and compact/rigid. (I wish the mini hammer had better quality) I definitely recommend, you will not regret it.

Easy enough to put together but is more flimsy than i thought it was going to be.
