It was love at first step
I was skeptical that a minimalist sandal would actually feel good on my foot...it was love at first step! These things fit great and are mega comfortable. I went out for a couple of miles on blacktop and was amazed that my feet didn't miss the support and cushion of my regular shoes. I purchased these as camp shoes for an upcoming 400-mile section hike but now see myself actually hiking in these on my less challenging days. I'll use a zero drop running shoe when the trail gets dicey. I'm fortunate to live in a coastal community as these are now my footwear of choice.

Xero Trail Sandals...almost barefoot!
I am in love with my Xero Trail Sandals! I would advise any who are interested in these sandals to go to the company website before you purchase them to read about why they are created the way they are. Watch the videos. These sandals can do much to improve your posture and health, running ability, and comfort, but it will take a few weeks if you have never worn "0" pitch shoes before. This design allows your feet and toes to stretch and flatten out as they were when you were born. Your muscles and walking pattern will change, and your legs, hips, and back will breathe a sigh of relief after wearing them for a couple of weeks. The warranty is excellent: 5000 miles on the soles, and they will try to make good on any problems. And then there is always the Amazon guarantee if you are dissatisfied. Enjoy hiking and running almost barefoot!

Best ever for neuropathy, my favorite shoe
I just ordered my second pair, the 1st is holding up like new but I wanted a backup. I never, ever want to be without these. I'm a woman but I purchased the men's because of my foot size. Almost a year ago I had a neurologic reaction to a medication and got severe neuropathy in my legs and feet that I have been very slowly recovering from. I spent a lot of time fighting for every step. I started out numb, and as I get more sensation back in each part of my foot, normal stimuli can be very, very painful. Before this, the only thought I put into my shoes if if they look good (on a woman with big feet!), and I wore a lot of cheap shoes and low quality flip flops. After the injury, my feet would come right out of the flip flops, and the pain of a closed shoe was severe. Barefoot felt best indoors, but even a little texture underfoot like walking around barefoot in the backyard caused severe pain. I realize some people are really into a structured shoe with arch support, and these are not that. But if you want that same-as-barefoot feeling but with enough cushion to protect your feet from the irregularities of the ground, these are perfect. The straps have so much adjustability that for someone with neuropathy, there is no place for them to impinge and hurt. At the same time, they can be adjusted to hold your foot securely so that they don't flop around. I have worn these everywhere with no pain at all. They are suitable for walking any distance or stair climbing, however I am using them for urban activities and can't speak to their traction in the great outdoors. As a woman who used to only wear cute shoes, these are a change aesthetically but due to their minimalist style and thin sole they are actually very unobtrusive. I can wear them with a nice pair of slacks and they look surprisingly un-weird... though obviously this is in my private life and not in any professional capacity. If you are suffering from neuropathy and just looking to be able live your life and do your errands without pain and struggles, I can't recommend these enough.

Great sandle!
Fits as expected. Great sandle, very comfortable from the very first time I put them on.

Surprisingly comfortable
I purchased these as a water shoe for backpacking. They're light, and small, I figured they'd get me across the crossings and not much else. Little did I realise they would be a great hiking shoe. I ended up carrying my trail runners and hiking in these. Hopefully they hold up.
