HOSHANHO Damascus Chef Knife, 8" Professional Japanese Kitchen Knife & G10

(2-3 weeks in use) Great knife!! Has become my go to, usurping my J. A. Henkels chef. The handle feels heavy at first but oddly does not affect or feel unbalanced and quickly becomes comfortable. Very stable even in small hands, it will not rotate!! I've thin sliced frozen ginger without fear, not something I cannot say about other (often far more expensive) quality kitchen knives. Edge is still "scary sharp" with only a pass or two of a chef's steel to re-stabilize the edge. 5 star for sure!!!

Really impressed with the sharpness and how rigid this blade is. It was perfect for the brisket, prime rib (ribeye roast), and half ham I made over the holidays. Handle has an amazing feel to it and it’s probably the best fitting handle I have in my collection and it was on the affordable side. And the weight is in the desired range. It cleans off so easily it’s ridiculous

This knife is a work of art

Knife was very sharp on arrival, hopefully will keep edge? Handle seems hollow and knife seems off balance.

I bought this for my wife as a Xmas gift, but I had to check it out before wrapping. So, I'm not certain as to whether it is true Damascus clad or not. That does not affect the functionality of this Chinese made knife. The core and cutting edge is what the knife is all about. Yes, Chinese made, but I knew that. Some of what comes out of that country is garbage, but after doing research, some of the knives using Japanese steel are pretty decent. This knife came RAZOR SHARP RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. At the price point I purchased this at, it was a pretty good deal. So, for those who expected a $400 knife for $30-$40 dollars, you will likely be disappointed. If you don't know how to treat or use a knife, you will be disappointed.

Well balanced and oh so sharp! Most of our knives need to be sharpened each use, and dull quickly. This beautiful knife slices right through everything!

Super sharp and cuts with ease. Well balanced with a comfortable handle. Seems to be "true" Damascus layered steel. Note there are many knives that are made to look like Damascus, by etching the pattern into the surface but these are the real deal as far as I can tell. Item is nicely packaged and the box could be used for storage, but I use it so much that I keep it out on my magnetic knife bar. I would recommend this knife for sure.

Mein neues Lieblingsmesser, ist für die meisten Anwendungen perfekt geeignet und schneidet scharf. Das Messer lässt sich problemlos nachschleifen und ist ein Muss in jeder Küche.

Bought this on sale for a very reasonable price. Made in China not Japan but exceptional quality and sharpness. Also looks to be Damascus steel which is great for the relatively low cost.
