So far so good I use these spreaders on a daily basis day in day out since evn spread stopped making this size of spreader I have been stuck with other pretty poor spreaders to use some at over twice the price have lasted only weeks without needing repair or strengthening been using this for 3 weeks now 10/10 Only criticism is that the gearing is a bit fast which makes it throw a bit too wide for my liking but I’ve adapted to that now As I say 3 weeks on brilliant Value for money incredible A know some say it’s fiddling to assemble and it is but I’ve built 10s of these over the years you just need to take your time and follow the instructions to the letter Update It’s now nearly October and this spreader has performed perfectly with no problems at all.great item *****

Sturdy product well built Assembly instructions poor had to watch a YouTube video

Very sturdy, heavy duty spreader. It takes about 30 mins to assemble but is much better quality than most. Also the handle height is adjstable, so no more bending down as you have to with other spreaders.

Good so far, quality seems decent but they could definitely have another look at their instruction manual. Really complicated and the diagrams are small and confusing.

Excellent product. Got for sowing lime on lawn. Large capacity and very well-made. Followed the instructions provided and there is a really good video on YouTube if those aren't clear enough from the makers on how to put it together.

I haven't even used this yet and I already hate it. The assembly instructions and process is a complete nightmare. The paper manual is terrible - description and pictures so unclear you literally have to spend ages trying to work out what to do. Step 4 picture even has mistakes incorrectly indicating how to fit the frame braces. If you follow those instructions you'll find one wheel keeps popping off when you try to attach the handle shaft. Handy have an assembly video on their website product page, but even this is not fit for purpose and it misses out important steps. It also keeps changing angles, so when the video has panned in close up, it's really difficult to keep a track of where things go. But these are not the only issues I've had, having purchased on Amazon direct from Handy. 1st unit: after 2.5 hours building it, I found the control rod was smacking against the adjustable connecting rod when opening and closing the holes at the bottom of the hopper. No amount of adjusting would resolve this. I spent more time than I'd care to mention talking with Handy support, sending photos and videos, and they could not determine the problem. So they said they'd pick it up and replace it. So more time wasted disassembling it to fit back in the box. 2nd item: I could see immediately that this unit was damaged, and had previously been assembled and disassembled. I didn't bother building it, and contacted Handy who said it must have got damaged in transit. I replied saying the box was undamaged and the paint could not have been scratched off the frame whilst inside the box. There were other visible signs the product had been assembled and disassembled. More than likely someone else gave up and returned it for a refund. 3rd unit: this one took another 2.5 hours to build More issues, and I discovered the issue with Step 4 mentioned at the start. It took a lot of trial and error to determine the diagram is wrong, and this was also supported by watching the video over and over and managing to pause it for the nanosecond it shows how the frame brackets are fitted. Also - the control bar is supposed to come with two nuts already fitted on the end, rather than being in the bag of items. On this third unit, these were missing! I checked the box, and the bag of items, and they were nowhere to be found. Was this also a return where someone simply gave up, and failed to put these back in the box? Fortunately my neighbour had two nuts the right size, otherwise this would have been the final straw and I would have disassembled this one and returned it for a refund. I then found I had the same issue as the first unit. However, again spending too long fiddling and and trying various things I found it's much better if you fit the control rod in reverse - against both the manual and the video. So now finally after a total of 6-7 hours assembly and 2 exchanges, and asking my neighbour if he had any nuts to replace those that were missing, a week later it's ready to be used. This experience is unacceptable in my opinion. Do yourself a favour: don't waste your money on this product unless you want to waste a lot time and become extremely frustrated whilst trying to assemble it, which you may or may not complete.

Excellent product that saved me a huge amount of time versus hand spreading in the past - only criticism is of the instructions which have grainy images that are difficult to interpret.
