There is no angle. They are designed to support a more natural running gait and discourage heel striking. **Q: I am used to Vibrams, but this year their sizes all run small, so my size 9 foot would be a size 10 shoe. So this is size 8?** A: I bought size 10, same as my foot size. Some shoes I need to buy 10.5. But for this I kept the same size(10) and fits perfect. **Q: I wear a 10.5 men but there's no selection** A: I bought a size 10 due to this comment even though my feet are 10.5. The shoes did not fit me with any space around the toes. I would recommend getting size 11 despite this comment. **Q: Is the sole hard enough to trail run? I’m looking for a cheap vibram sole alternative.** A: If you’re talking about over rocks, the sole will probably be too flexible for running. Dirt trails and boulders should be just fine. These remind me of my vapormaxes, minus the back pain and instability I experienced from wearing those. The all black look is sleek and looks great in person. Nice reflective detail on the heel tab. All this with zero branding makes these the epitome of what a "minimalist" shoe should be to me, in all senses of the word. Ordered a half size up to 10 from 9.5 (in Nike) and think it was the right decision as there is more room in the toe box for splay.They do take some getting used to however (transition appropriately!). I don't run, and have on and off disc/si joint pain. These are mainly an everyday plus gym shoe. I took the insoles out straightaway. Two weeks in and I look forward to: walking (forefoot now — tip: watch Grown and Healthy on YT), being intentional with my gait, feeling different surfaces under my feet, even driving is more engaging. Without getting into too much of the details I feel much more stable and connected with my body from the ground up. And I have no doubt this trend will only continue with time.So thank you Whitin for making an awesome entry-level option to the barefoot shoe market! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value *by A***R on Reviewed in Canada on 24 September 2023* I have used these as my daily shoes for the last 6 months and they have held up well. I only keep one pair of shoes at a time and replace as necessary. On walks with a lot of gravel you can really feel the sharp rocks. I will probably look at other wide toe box, zero drop shoes that have a midsole going forward to be more versatile.
