Very stretchy and seems good quality. But the last 1/2" or so that connects to the buds is very very small, about 1/16". If you were to catch the lanyard on something while moving around it would almost certainly snap it. The part that encases the buds is ok. You don't want that too thick or it will be uncomfortable. I wore mine for an hour or so and didn't experience any discomfort.
