Is this supposed to disconnect 100% of the current? Because mine doesnt

Yes. This switch cuts the load leg completely. If you are having draw issues, or you are showing power at one or both of the switch poles, I would disconnect both legs of the switch and test both cables for any power. If your vehicle/equipment has multiple features, it may be that you are getting power back-fed from the load/equipment/vehicle via a different power source.

I’m looking to easily connect and reconnect my negative battery cable. Will this work? I have a 250 amp alternator

I currently am running about 2 dozen of these as master battery disconnects on a fleet of mixer trucks. We are running 3 group 31 batteries through them, while cranking it sees in excess of 1500cca (for a few seconds) and they have performed nearly flawlessly. We use 160 amp alternators and at this point have only had one failure. Flaming River states on their website that it is rated for 250 amps continuous and 2500 amps for 5 seconds. I have tried quite a few others and these are the best ones I have found so far. Hope this helps, Good Luck.

When you turn the switch to the ON position, what happens when you let go? Does it stay in that position, or spring back to “off”?
