Gibsie and Claire
I think I liked this book a little less than the previous two duologies. But, it was still a 5-star read. I have so many favourite moments in this. Some of them I am going to be remembering for a long time - most of these were group moments ❤ Now, something that I didn't enjoy - So, while I was reading this I was already aware of the events that occur in the next book (R10) yet even without that, I felt like crying for Lizzie because nobody was listening to her. Sadly, no one has ever listened to her nor has anyone bothered to ask the right questions. It hurt to see how easily they turned their backs on her. Yes, she did say some awful things to Gibsie and he didn't deserve any of that. But, why did no one think to question Lizzie for why she believed that Gibsie was somehow responsible for what happened to her sister or that he was protecting his stepbrother? Of course, I am glad that Gibsie had all of his friends support. But, my heart was aching for Lizzie so bad 🥺💔 Even without knowing R10 events it was clear by the way Lizzie was crying during some of the scenes that something really bad has happened in her past. I needed at least someone to ask her what was going on with her? I was internally screaming - You're friends so just talk to her. Anyways, I feel really connected to her since her introduction in Binding 13. I have soft spot for such complex characters. She is also very similar to Joey who is another of my favourite characters. That ending scene where the group sort of divided - I was so happy to find out Joey standing with Lizzie. I love that she has his unconditional support. I need to see more of this friendship in the next book (after R10) They are my favourite platonic relationship/friendship in the entire series! Also, Hughie in that scene? With his head in his hands for whatever reason? It seemed like that's all he kept doing towards the end. I didn't know whether to laugh or feel bad for him - boy needs to make a decision soon because Lizzie needs him. Love Shannon for standing up for Lizzie and then continue to be friends with her as well. Same goes for Patrick Feely, although I am not sure how I feel about him yet. Coming to the couple of this book - I love Gibsie, that's all. I have nothing else to say there. Claire on the other hand, I can tell that she has her heart in the right place (except maybe regarding Lizzie who she never tried to understand) I think she is reckless when it comes to fixing a situation. She bulldozes over other people's feelings and boundaries without listening to them first. I think she is just naive and needs to learn to think before reacting. I absolutely cringed at the scene she created to expose the truth. Could've been handled better. I also think Gibsie forgave her too quickly. Now, for my favourite side characters - Love the Lynch siblings cameos! ❤

Gibsie is the best!
My heart hurts from this story. This book has you cracking up one minute and crying the next. Was so excited to get to read the story of Gibsie and Claire. I won’t spoil for others but if you don’t cry while reading chapter 78 that’s amazing because that chapter was the best male bonding friendship scene I probably ever read in my life and touched me more than anything else. Love all the Tommen characters. But I knew the Gibsie book would be special. While Gibsie and Claire weren’t my favorite couple that belongs to Joey and Aifee, they still are pretty adorable. You hear just breaks for Gibsie and halfway through I guessed where this was going but it still took a toll reading it. Now Lizzie Lizzie girl have to read her story next but while you understand there are issues she sure makes you want to shake her a lot here with her behavior towards Gibsie. I hope there is more of a resolution in the next book. Don’t miss any of the Tommen books because they are truly all excellent. I really was hoping to read Chloe Walsh acknowledgment and some of her thoughts while writing this story at the end of the book as she has with the others but perhaps it was too deep for her to share. Either way thank you for gifting us with more of these amazing stories. What a wonderful author she is.

Heartbreakingly Beautiful
To say I'm a book worm would be to say that The Rock or Arnold Schwarzenegger enjoy light exercise. I live and breathe my favourite books, and have been looking forward to reading Gibsie & Claire's story for over 4 years. At this point, I have come up with many different scenarios and stories in my head, but not one holds a candle to Taming 7. I expected some of the twists and turns, but absolutely did not forsee some of the most impactful moments of their story. From the moment I first experienced the B.O.Tommen world, I have adored both Gerard Gibsie, with all of his hilarious antics, and his friendship with his Claire Bear. Their relationship is serious #friendshipgoals: the way they are there for one another, always showing up - no matter what; never judge one another; are loyal to one another above all else; get and understand one another better than anyone else; know when to push, when to provide distraction, and when to provide safety - a safe place to fall. That, plus their banter was a solid 100. They could be utterly hilarious, arguing about the most ridiculous of things one moment, and in the next breath be holding hands and providing support and sanctuary. With one look, they knew what the other needed. I wish I had a ride or die like #Clisby (<- that was obviously created by Gibs, lol). That said, there were uncharted waters for them in Taming 7, where they both had to learn and grow, which is never easy. Plus the Gibs Kav bromance is still going strong, and, believe it or not, gets even better. Their bromance is one for the ages. There was also the added element of dealing with some vicious bullying from within their own group, forcing there to be battle lines drawn and crossed, which will surely play a huge part in the coming books. And whilst the book showed us how Johnny, Shannon, Joey, Aoife, and the lynch kids were healing, growing, and thriving, it also provided the friendship goals, banter/ craic, and raw emotion I've come to expect from Walsh's world in Cork. Seeing how much Shannon is coming out of her shell, how much more confident she is, and seeing Joey more settled, content and seemingly more at peace was beautiful and made me so happy. Both getting the better life they deserve. I did not, however, expect to spend hours sobbing uncontrollably, as part of this book is harrowing. Harrowing, I tell you. What one of the characters has endured - with a smile to hide it all, no less - is astounding, their strength and kindness as inspiring as it is heart breaking - gut wrenchingly heart breaking. I thought Walsh had packed her biggest punch with the Lynch's. I was wrong. I was so, so wrong. So obviously, I will be rereading the entire series with my newly gained knowledge and perspective, already knowing my mind is going to be blown (whilst most likely using up another packet of Kleenex) all over again from the strength and compassion I was shown in Taming 7. Hats off to you, once again, Chloe Walsh. Your imagination is a wonderful thing, and I'm so grateful that you share it with us. The writing was beautiful, and I love that you hardly ever use "said/ says", but enhance your books by being more descriptive and not relying on repetitive words. It truly elevates your work and makes the experience as a reader much deeper, I feel more connected to the characters partly because of how you write the dialogue. How you write makes me feel every word, every feeling, every moment, and that is both phenomenal and painful. I have always said that my favourite books have to make me *feel*, and BOT has never not done that. The characters are also incredibly realistic. Their thoughts processes, their feelings, their humour, their demons, their hopes, fears and dreams, it all comes across like reading real people rather than characters in a book. I have never experienced the realness of characters in any other books or book series. I cannot tell you enough how rare and talented that is. I cannot wait to see where the next installment goes, what journey it takes us on. To anyone who hasn't read the Boys Of Tommen yet: you should. Do yourself a favour and discover both a new favourite series and an immensely talented author. You've been missing out on an immersive, fun, genuine and emotional book world.

Gibsie!!!!!
OK. I was feeling a little hesitant to dive into this one... only because I assumed it would be light and filled with humor and nothing deep.. because it's GIBS & CLAIRE. Well let me tell you... I was pleasantly surprised. There is SO much more to Gerard Gibson. And I was completely besotted with the boy. I felt the laughs and I also immersed myself in the depth he was hiding all along. The things he went through... The way he took Lizzies verbal attacks despite what he went through... The way he and Claire's friendship grew into more.. I WAS JUST HERE FOR ALL OF IT. And Claire was so fun! I loved every part of her personality and the way she loved Gibsie so fiercely. And their banter was just ridiculous haha I loved it.

Claire and Gibs have my heart
I just finished Taming 7, and it was worth every single minute. Claire and Gibsie completely stole my heart. What makes this story unforgettable isn’t just the romance — it’s the resilience. Knowing everything Gibsie endured and still seeing him stand tall, smiling, loving fiercely, and showing up for the people he cares about is deeply moving. His strength doesn’t come from perfection; it comes from surviving and still choosing kindness. That changes you as a reader. Gibsie’s loyalty, humor, and unwavering devotion make him one of the most beautiful characters in the series. And Claire — steady, loving, and strong in her own right — meets him in a way that feels real and earned. I also loved getting glimpses of Johnny and Shannon, and Joey and Aoife. Seeing those relationships continue to grow in the background adds so much warmth and depth to the story. It feels like revisiting old friends and realizing their journeys still matter. This book isn’t just about romance. It’s about friendship, trauma, healing, and the quiet courage it takes to keep going. It hurts at times. It heals at times. And by the end, it leaves you with hope. Congratulations to Chloe Walsh for once again delivering a story that is raw, honest, and profoundly human. Taming 7 is powerful, unforgettable, and a beautiful testament to resilience and love.
