I went with the larger sticks, if you are using them on more then one area for any length of time my preference is the larger sticks. There are 5 sticks in each package for a total of 10 sticks. They are rolled tight and the mugwort is tightly packed in each stick. Wonderful earthy smell. We use the sticks for our family. We prefer more traditional holistic ways for treating ourselves for various things. Overall very pleased.

The smaller ones are better for short-time burning as the longer they are the more they last and I don't know if you can turn them off and on again. It is a bit hard to start the light and to keep it lit in the beginning but once it starts then you are good. This is for more of a therapy session that I am doing and the benefits are more than I can say. Its better for a big home than a smaller area. It does have a strong smell but its a nice aroma.

This moxa burns pretty even and puts out the heat, which is what youu want. It has a nice light scent. I used to go to an acupunturist for moxa treatments and this smells and feels like the moxa he used. I am using it over my dan tien to help my energy and health. I recommend getting a moxa burner to place the moxa in to place on your body. The scent is very relaxing.

I got these a few says ago and the smoke when lit was too much to handle. The scent when not lit is subtle but once it's burning your house will fill with smoke and make you cough. I feel like I need to wash my walls to get the smell out. Maybe sticks that smoke less would be better.
