Very useful piece of kit
Having had a reflector telescope for a few months now I decided that a Collimator would be a useful aid in insuring that the instrument was probably set up. Having purchased items from SVBony before I decided to go to them for this model. The collimator arrived well packed and with basic instructions as to how to use, however there are many videos on Utube showing this procedure and would recommend watching some of them as it makes understanding the set up much easier. The collimator felt well made and proved straightforward to use in fine tuning my telescope, overall a good tool and well priced for the quality. I am happy to recommend this product.

Does the job out of the box
Does the job for me. Helps me get a quick collimation on my 10” Newtonian every time. Didn’t need to collimate the laser either, perfect out of the box

A useful, but flawed device.
Affordable, but arrived out of colimation itself, so would not have been much good straight out of the box. I had to look up a video on how to collimate these things, and it is not as straightforward as it could be. The 3 adjusting screws to centre the laser are covered by a warning label and silicone, which had to be pickled out of the holes first. You also need to fashion a simple jig to sit the device on and a very small Allen key. I found it a bit of a faff, but now it is set up properly, it is so much easier to collimate my telescope. Edit: The people at Svbony read my review and offered me a full refund immediately. I refused as the collimator works fine now. Instead, they have reported the issue to the manufacturer and offered me a discount on my next purchase. What great customer service!

Poor self Collimation - Needed setting up
Looks nice out of the box. Unfortunately, mine also came with appalling initial self collimation. The site listing says that the unit cannot be adjusted to achieve collimation, and indeed the adjuster holes are covered in a poured in liquid rubber. Carefully cutting out the rubber revealed three allen head bolts. Creating a simple timber V block the poor collimation was confirmed. After releasing and adjusting the allen head bolts, good self collimation was achieved. Whilst this all took less than an hour, and the purchased item is now useable, it's mighty disappointing that the primary function of the unit - good self collimation - was so terrible, rendering it unfit for purpose and in a non-merchantable quality. The laser dot is fine at the lower settings when in use. However, the dot is slightly distorted and smudged at full brightness — a lower setting for the win. If you have the time, patience and skill to create a practical V block arrangement, then it is possible to correct the poor initial state of the unit. However, if you want something that is right straight from the box, then you run the risk of getting a unit like mine: annoyingly unfit and pointless for accurate setting up of a telescope.

Worked out of the box (fortunately)
After reading the other reviews, I was wondering if I would have to adjust the colliminator, but fortunately it worked straight out of the box. The instructions are a bit limited in the box, as they do not explain what the numbers on the base do. It was only after adjusting my mirror that I found out the the numbers give a bigger scatter which can be used once the mirror is correct to get a reading on the angled markings.

Arrivato in tempo e perfettamente funzionante.

Eyepiece holder offset
Rotate the laser 120 degrees (1/3 of a circle) at least 6 times during collimation in case of misalignment in the eyepiece holder and adjust to the average. Results are very good.

Estoy semi-contento.
