So far so good - but we'll see
I don't know about newer Subarus, but the older ones (like I have) position the front right inner CV boot directly over the catalytic convertor. The catalyst cooks the CV boot, and standard neoprene rubber CV boots fail every 6-7 years or so. Then the grease gets flung all over the hot catalyst and smokes/smells bad. At least its easy to notice there's a problem so you can re-boot the CV joint before you ruin it... I wasn't able to find a silicone CV boot specifically designed for the Subie joint, but gave this a try. It fit just fine. I had to cut one "step" off the big end, but otherwise fit was great. The grooves for the clamps are a bit narrow, but were just wide enough to get the clamp in there. Also, because this silicone material is squishy an NOT fabric-reinforced, you've got to be careful how tight you pinch your CV clamps. If you do it too hard, you risk squishing out or even cutting into the boot. Snug it up, and add just a *bit* more pinch to your clamp. I'm concerned this boot is made of non-reinforced silicone material. It is super duper flexible and soft, but gives me the impression it will be really easy to tear or puncture while in service. I realize that adding fabric-reinforcement (like silicone turbo piping connectors) would stiffen the boot up. Perhaps that would make it unsuitable for a CV joint that is required to articulate through angles - but I kinda think that's what the ribs are for...to provide the required degree of freedom to make a bend. If this was fabric reinforced, I'd give it 5 stars. But its not. We'll see how long it lasts. I know it's going to withstand the heat of living near the catalyst, but I'm unsure if this material is durable enough to be a CV boot. Will update my review. Sooner if it fails, later if it's going strong!

Cheap and Poor Execution of Design for a CV Boot
Absolute garbage. Too thin and developed tears within minutes of installation. It's like someone described a CV boot to someone who has never seen one before (and also has English as a 2nd or 3rd language) to design it. Dumped all my grease out but the clamps are still perfect. What a damn waste of time and money.

Very thin rubber compared to other brands
$25 price is great for 4 boots but VERY thin rubber compared to other brands. I am returning for a refund because the amount time / work required to replace CV boots aren't worth installing lessor products to save $10. My time is more valuable . . . Thanks and hope this helps others make informed decisions

Worked great as experimental covers for pan and tilt device
Easy to cut if needed, but durable for maker projects for robots or pan tilt units as a dust cover while still allowing flexibility.
