A great piece of equipment
I have a standard scale, but after embarking on a health kick last year I wanted something that would give me some more information. Weight ======= The product itself is not heavy. It displays weight in Lbs or St. Display clarity ============ The display is a bright red and is easy to read Looks ===== I think this product looks good. It looks like it is well made Use ==== This product is super easy to use and links to the Renpho health app on your phone. I’ve not had any sync issues and it was all hooked up within five mins of opening the box (including registering for an account) Value for money ============= The data you’re able to get from this I think makes it great value for money. I don’t want to track my weight every day, but I like the data points and it’ll give me something to work on Battery life ========== Can’t comment as I’ve only had the product a week. Can’t remember if it came with batteries (I think it did, but if it did they would only be cheap ones). Would I recommend? ================= Absolutely! have you ordered yet?!

Buy it
Never really could be excited about scales . This is a brilliant item . Easy to use and the app is easy to set up and very intuitive. The whole app and scales is worth every penny and it could pass for a more expensive product. The app is clear , no bugs and free to use with no pay walls.

A great product hampered by a poorly placed metric
I owned a pair of Tanita's which suddenly died. I went to purchase another set, but took the chance to look at alternatives. I had a look, and decided to purchase a set of the RENPHO scales. I was sceptical admittedly, and I didn't expect that the app would work. On first usage, I was underwhelmed that it only gave me my weight when I used the device as a standalone. The instructions suggested downloading the app. I did, and this is where the RENPHO really steps up. The app requested some basic details (height, age, etc). Then you sync it to the scales, which is VERY easy. Jumped back on the scale, waited for it to run a complete assessment (8-10 seconds) and all of a sudden, all the additional metrics appeared on screen. So why am I only giving it 3 stars for "Accuracy"? Well it used the BMI scale/metrics, which generally don't apply to people who are muscular and short like myself. Consequently, stats like my metabolic age, are negatively distorted by the BMI metric. This is the ONLY thing these scales do not have going for them. I would still recommend them if you'd like something that accurately measures most of your metrics. The app saves and tracks your data as well. It's fantastic.

Decent good-looking scales - working well so far!
Feeling that it was time to combat some middle-aged spread, I wanted to get a set of scales that a] I could actually see (unlike our old mechanical scales), and b] that could talk to my phone, so that I could track whether my combination of diet and exercise was actually making any difference. Even though these scales can tell you all sorts of other things (skeletal muscle, body water, etc. etc.) my only interest is in the weight, so I have no idea how reliable the other kind of data is. But anyway, on to the scales themselves - the RENPHO Bluetooth Body Fat Scale with iOS and Android APP (I mention this as sometimes Amazon lumps reviews of different models together). I've had them for about a month now, and the executive summary is that I would certainly recommend them. Briefly: they look good, they give consistent readings, the connection with my phone has been entirely unproblematic, and the app works well. Unlike some reviewers, I have never seen any ads (I have the iOS app), so I don't know what app they have; and I haven't had any problems with the settings, or with switching between metric and imperial. There was *one* thing that took some getting used: it was no problem to switch the scales from metric (i.e. kilograms) to imperial (i.e. pounds), but the display *on the scales* gives the weight just in pounds, not in stones and pounds; in the app, however, it does give you the weight in stones and pounds. Initially I thought this could be a problem, as I did not want to have to keep trying to convert 175 pounds (which meant nothing to me) into a figure that did (12 stone 7 pounds), but I don't care about it now. This is partly because I tend to look at the weight readings on my phone, which does give me a figure in stones and pounds, and partly because I am getting used to thinking in pounds rather than stones and pounds. So overall, I am very happy with the purchase. It's been very helpful for me personally to be able to track progress over the last month via the app, so I'm glad I went for one with bluetooth. It seems more accurate and more reliable than our previous mechanical scales; it's a lot thinner, lighter, and better looking too. And to echo some of the slightly odd-sounding perhaps-they-might-be-fake reviews, it is actually a nice touch that they come with some batteries.

Late to the tech scales trend, but a true convert!
I love these scales. I honestly can't say enough good things about them, and I genuinely reccommend them to people when we get on the subject. At first, I just needed a bog standard set of scales as I had to change my lifestyle habits due to ill health. My friend's brother had just bought a different set of Renpho scales in black and she told me to check them out. I'm so glad I did. Firstly they're super accurate- I've had hospital appointments where they've had to take my weight, and I'm always bang on the same weight for them as I am on my Renpho. Secondly, they're compact- I slide them down the tiny gap between my wardrobe and the wall, you'd never know theyre there! If I couldn't though, I'd be quite happy to leave it out in the bathroom because their sleek, futuristic aesthetic is very appealing. But by far the best part is the app that you use in conjunction with the scales. It's super easy to set up and connect to the scales- switch your bluetooth on, boom you're done- you can create multiple profiles so you can have the rest of the family join in if they want to, and just the WEALTH of information you get, it's honestly so very helpful if you're trying to work on your body. Been back to the hospital this week, they asked for my BMI, so I whipped out my phone and checked the Renpho app, ta dah! No memory or maths required. You can check your trends as a graph so you can see your progress, or lack thereof (thanks holiday meals out!) and something extra awesome- it connects to fitness trackers. I've got mine connected to my fitbit, so they both share information and its easier to track my goals over the weeks and months. If you're after a normal set of scales that look nice in the bathroom, these are great! If you're looking to use this as a tool to take control of your body and fitness, they're an absolute god-send! Buy them!

Highly recommend
Brilliant scales. Very accurate no fluctuation, if you step on them multiple times they read the same(unlike my old scales). App is brilliant. Good for tracking weight loss and gain. You can track BMI, fat, water, bone and muscle mass plus more. Multiple users also.

5 years later...
I'm going to leave the original review I wrote below. I have owned these scales for 5 years. They still work with nothing but an infrequent battery change. For £20 that is not bad going considering I weigh myself 7 days a week. At the gym, I weigh myself once a week on a fancy machine that has a couple of more zeros£££ than this has and this set of scales is, give or take, spot on. They still sync flawlessly, are accurate, look good and dry their job. Do get these scales have cost me £4 as year and I will to get that down to £1 a year. Value for money 💯 %. Original review below... What I like about the scales are the fact the app works flawlessly. You open the app, step on the scales, they recognise each other and bobs your uncle. I use the scales with a Fitbit versa. The Renpho app syncs easily with the Fitbit app and sends the data to Fitbit with no further input from me. Excellent. I'd say it's accurate and certainly as to the weight which I initially checked with a set of industrial scales at work which are calibrated. These scales, at roughly £20, replaced fitbits own scales which cost £49. They are better, more stylish and easier to use than the clunky and faulty Fitbit stuff. Fitbits scales wouldn't pair with fitbits own app so I got these and I'm really happy I did. 5 stars from me!
