My fussy dog Loves this.
I have a VERY fussy little dog and have gone through trials of many different foods including home delivery of prepared dog foods (Farmers Dog, Nom Nom etc).I tried this as a 'topper' to entice her and she loved it.After reading through the ingredients more thoroughly I saw it's a completely nutritious meal so I now give her half of this product and half wet food (Evolve). Finally she comes running for her meals and eats enthusiastically.I've used both the beef and lamb. I'll definitely continue to purchase this product..By the way, it makes a great nutritious 'treat' AND my cat loves a couple of pieces every day.It is more expensive than some other foods... but so is throwing out other foods she wouldn't eat! Fortunately she's small so doesn't eat large amounts every day.A reminder...be sure to wash hands after handling since it's a freeze dried RAW product.I highly recommend.

Vet said it caused Pancreatitis in my Dog
DON"T buy this or any other high fat food unless you discuss it with your Vet first! 20 days after feeding my small 5 lbs. Yorkshire Terrier this diet, he got pancreatitis, caused by the change to this high fat, no grain diet. My vet said their have been recent studies showing this type of food is not for good dogs, and especially not for small dogs. Don't believe the hype!

Hard to Digest
This product is extremely hard--almost like a rock. Takes awhile to soften with water and my dog really didn't gobble it down like he does other freeze dried food. Also his stools became soft and runny. I don't think it digests very well. I had to discard the bags I purchased.

Healthy and tasty for my gourmet snob
My dog actually likes it! She's very picky and usually turns her nose up at most dry dog food, raw or cooked. I didn't even have to mix any of her canned food with it. She ate it right out of the package!

Healthy ingredients
This was our first time trying freeze dried food. We've purchased other brand freeze dried as treats. I have 2 dogs- both with sensitive stomachs & we have to be careful of the ingredients because of sensitivities & allergies. I was unfamiliar with this brand before I had a chance to try it. We tried both the beef & lamb. The bag comes with a resealable top, & the chunks are various sizes. The first time, I had just glanced at the instructions on how to re-hydrate & missed the part about using Warm water. I used room temperature distilled water. After about 15 min, it didn't look like the food was breaking down much. After reviewing instructions again, realized the part about using warm water. I drained the water that didn't get absorbed, & my girls ate it, & seemed to enjoy. I started out with a small amount to avoid any stomach upset. The next night, tried it with the warm water. The food does not break down all that much (or not as I thought it would), but my girls really like it.This brand seems to be good quality with healthy ingredients. Here are some of the things I like about it:- Grain free- Corn Free- No animal meal/ fillers- Made in the USA- an ingredient list that is simple & you can understand- My dogs ate it without stomach upset & switching slowly, they did not have any gastro distress.I've attached some photos so you can see the size of the food. The size is good for dogs small- XL. For tiny dogs, I'd probably try to break up some of the bigger pieces. While I think this is a good food, with quality ingredients, it can get pricey, especially if you are feeding multiple dogs in your household or if you have larger dogs that will eat more. What I am going to try to do with my dogs is feed them a premium kibble in the morning, then a freeze dried or raw for dinner to see how they do. I also want to ask our vet about feeding amounts to make sure what is recommended on the bag is the correct amount for my dogs. My dogs liked this, & did well eating it, so it is a brand I will consider buying in the future.* Need treats? This would be an Excellent value to buy & use as treats! They are easy to break apart if you need to break up some of the larger pieces (for smaller dogs, or for a smaller treat size). You can also use as a food topper. Happy Shopping! I hope you found this review helpful. :)
