If you are going to use a kitesurfing leash, this is the one to have!
Before you order ANY kite leash, I recommend you to do an internet search of kiteboard leash accidents. Any leashes can be potentially very dangerous or even fatal! Any leash can cause the board to come flying back at you, causing serious damage. It is always safer to not use a leash and learn to use the body drag method to tack back to your board if you lose it. I recommend all newbies first learn body dragging and kiting without a leash. Then you will know what to do in an emergency if your leash breaks or malfunctions. If you later decide to go with a leash, this is the one to get. NEVER USE A LEASH WITHOUT ALSO WEARING A HELMET - and, of course, a helmet is always a good idea when kiteboarding! This leash is much safer than any others I have seen out there. It has a long retractable cord to keep the board clear of you in a fall or drag situation. Yet, it has just enough spring tension to gently bring the board back to you after you have stopped dragging. It's especially nice for keeping your board near you when you are launching or walking your kite along the beach in the water. (You know, those days when there's not enough wind to keep upwind and you have to take the walk of shame back up the beach.)I haven't had a chance to use this leash very much yet, but It seems to work really well on inland lakes. I often kite in an lake with a lot of boat traffic, and having a leash to keep the board with me, allows me to recover from a fall more quickly, and it doesn't allow my board to get separated from me where it can become a potential hazard to boaters, wakeboarders, skiers, tubers, jet skis, etc.I haven't had any hard falls or bad drags yet with this leash on, so I can't say how it will do in these situations. But, any other time, it works really well. Personally, I will probably not use the leash in bigger wave situations (eg, oceans, great lakes) as wiping out in big waves and staying connected to a board could be really dangerous. One thing I don't like about the leash is that it is pretty heavy. But, you don't really notice the weight too much once you get used to it. So, overall, as leashes go - it's a great one! But, use at your own risk!

Plastic clip broke off a third time in the water ...
Plastic clip broke off a third time in the water, one strong pull with a kite and was swimming catching my kiteboard. Was expecting much stronger clip connection.

Well built product that works well, with proper caution
My wife and I each purchased a leash for our twin tip kite boards. The product is well made and easy to install. We are very hesitant to use a leash for fear of snap back accidents. We just returned from five days of kiting in in Baja, using 8 meter and 9 meter kites. The swell was at least 10 feet with breaking waves of three feet. We can both upwind body drag to retrieve our boards and are intermediate kiters, able to toe side turn and ride switch. Our concern was getting launched in the rough sea and not being able to see the twin tip when it is upside down. My wife lost her board three times without extending the leash to its full length. She retrieved her board by just pulling on the leash till the board was at her side. I lost my board once and started to upwind body drag to the board, having extended the leash to its full length. Then I realized I had the leash and just kept the kite high while I pulled the board in to me. Also while returning to shore through the surf once I fell and the board washed downwind to the full extent of the leash. I just kept the kite under control, got on my feet and walked up the beach, dragging the board behind me. We had no snap back issues, but then again were very conscious of the leash and were not aggressively jumping or bailing out from the board. Upwind body drag is still the best way to go, but the leash definitely gave peace of mind in rough conditions, particularly if you have vision problems and cannot easily see your separated board. For my wife, the leash gave her confidence to try new skills on the outside reach where she could lose her board. For me, it helped my not lose my board because of bad vision. Again, although it worked well, the leash is to be used conservatively and should not be a substitute for practicing and perfecting upwind body dragging, which really is quite easy if practiced.

Finally I can retrieve my board easily
Great leash for beginner kiteboarders or for intermediate kiteboarders learning new tricks. Its nice that the board doesn't snap back to hit. Also the merchant "KiteAndSurf" was great to deal with. They shipped the leash really fast. I immediately started using it and but my own mistake I broke the top buckle (the one that goes in to the harness webbing). I asked the merchant if I can buy a replacement strap and they responded with mailing me a free strap. I am
