So I built this chopping block surface for my kitchen island, and until now, I had been using all mineral oil based products and not fully satisfied, as it always felt kinda filmy ( didn't really make me want to use the surfaces for meal prep or baking ), always galled up my sand paper when trying to refinish, and the level of water-proofing and stain-resistance was questionable. SO I started doing research and found that Tung oil is a food-safe alternative that is far better than the mineral oil, or mineral oil and wax finishes... One of the things I loved, straight away, was the appearance... The cured surface is matte, but yet, it brings out the beautiful, almost opalescent luster of the maple grain. But further, once dry, water beads right up and sits on top of the surface, instead of wicking in. This gives ample time to be able to do clean-up without staining or rings. Most of all, the lack of filmy residue makes the surface much cleaner and easy to maintain, and it actually makes one more confident using it for its intended purpose, which is food prep and baking. I will certainly buy this again, when it comes time, and now that the block has been fully refurbished and the base is down, the next pass will probably only be a wipe-coat after a light scuff with some gray scotch-brite or 00 steel wool. Definitely pleased with the results, even after a full month and MANY loaves of sourdough later

After two coats, water beads up and rolls off. It appears pretty well waterproof. It only slightly deepens the color, it is the color of if the wood were wet. It gives a nice gloss as well. I really like this product and think it will give extra years to my garden beds. Grateful this product is pure and non-toxic as well.

I followed an early 19th century tractor transmission trick on my 02 f150 I dumped 6 oz into my transmission oil and man this thing is smooth as glass it has more power and it shifts crisply unbelievable results

Give it plenty of time to cure between coats and this will give you a beautiful lasting finish. Tung oil can’t be beat and this is a good one!

This is pure, high quality, Tung oil. I have been finishing wood for 50+ years. I have learned # 1 is to use quality materials. I can tell it's fresh, you can smell the difference, as old oils tend to smell with age. This product is rich and thick, I thinned it down with pure orange oil and real pure turpentine,1part tung oil and 1part each of the others and it applied nice and even on hard sugar maple, sugar maple doesn't like to soak up anything evenly. I buy a half gallon at a time, after thinning out to my liking of use, I get way more than a gallon of very high quality finish! hopefully my time on earth will allow me to continue purchasing. thank you.

work great with Citrus solution. (1-1 mix). Goes on easy and looks great. Better option over just stain. IMO. Very impressed.

Excellent product for sealing new wood, application is easy, natural oil so no chemical smell, the gallon goes a long way to cover multiple wood items, I applied twice before placing the planters on rooftop and so far so good.

Awesome product, treated my wooden spoons with it, ran them through the dishwasher a bunch and they still haven’t dried out or cracked. I applied 3 coats and let it cure for a couple weeks
