The side seams are taped together and then have a tiny stitch at either end to reinforce it. For some reason the side seams don’t lay flat on me. This could potentially be an issue under thin clingy garments where the buckling might show , but for me it’s not an issue. The back rises a little above the waistband of some of my midrise clothes, but it wouldn’t show under high-waisted leggings. I haven’t washed these yet, so if they end up falling apart right away or something, I’ll come back and update my review.
