Bought 1 at incredible price, gave to grandson and bought another at full price for me. Versatile, can use hand held, stand a little flimsy but functional, base lightweight so unstable if overhanging (easily opened base and fitted lead strips for weight).

Bought as a birthday gift for a young explorer, my 6 year old nephew. Everyone is very impressed with this microscope, the screen is fantastic and even the packaging felt premium, much more than expected from a microscope at this price level. My only drawback, is that the frame is a bit flexible, so when using the up/down adjustment or focus, it is quite easy to flex the frame. Why did you choose this product over others?: Looked cool and easy to use for my young nephew, and it was!

Love this little gadget! so useful, has great battery life, really fun to play with and best of all awesome value for money. It doesnt do super close zooms like other microscopes but it worked for what I needed it for. Its so amazing you can take pictures on it. Highly recommend

To date, I have bought 4 of these and can honestly say I am truly amazed at what you get for your money. My two grand children have one each. My wife has one for when they sleep over and I have one to look for the ID number of Lego parts to see if they are genuine Lego, or to identify the part. The magnification is quite similar to what you may get from apps that do this kind of thing on high-end phones, but you can't beat this for it's sturdy base and adjustable stand and focus. I'm finding ID numbers in some very strange places and surprised at how dirty the pieces seem to be, (as well as my fat fingers.) Easy to recharge using the supplied USB cable. The instructions are not really necessary except to set up the date and time. It will take a micro SD card if you want to save pictures of your fingerprints or that rare coin with Queen Victoria on it or the squashed bug from the garden. The kids just love it and have had so much fun I think every household that can afford it, especially as it was discounted when I bought mine, should buy one.

Didn't expect much because of the price. It was only a kids present for Christmas which I imaged would get abandoned. But I'll admit as a 32 year old mum I'm obsessed. I'm looking at everything, the quality is fantastic. Super clear screen. I even checked my nails after washing and it can pick up things you can see and I'm disgusted ill never bite my nails again. Everything has been under this microscope and I'm genuinely shocked at what things look like up close. It's amazing. Great gift for kids (and adults) who may find these things fascinating. Image is clearer in real life, taking a photo of a screen is difficult. For £30 it's mindblowing. Must buy!

Super little macro microscope. Great value for the money. Easy to set up and use. Ignore the spurious magnification figures quoted. It has a linear magnification of between 4x and 10x. There is also a digital zoom that will give 22x. The maximum field of view is 23 mm x 13 mm.

If you want to see the whole of the coin this is not for you. It is good for zooming in on detail. The booklet with details needs to be accessible in pdf format on line as it is too small to read in physical form. I wanted to be able to capture the whole of the coin and then the details but it is impossible to do using the item purchased. It appears to be well built. Maybe if it came with longer stem it would be able to see the whole of the coin.
