There is also a movement lock nob, which can also be used to slightly tighten the moving friction on the rails to reduce any undesired side movement when turning the gear wheel. Thirdly, it has a gear-release lever for quick movement by disengaging the gears, which is very handy, and it can be pressed back to secure the geared movement without any play.
