This pattern is specifically designed for bottomless portafilters. The basket has flat bottom. Available in 4 heights with different capacities according to the type of coffee used. For 58-58.5mm tampers. Ridgeless. Border 70mm. The main characteristics we found out the BIG BANG filters emphasis was the SWEETNESS. The extraction is very uniform , it exalts the sweetness and reduces the acidity. We don’t suggest to use the BIG BANG filters with citric (light) coffees since they sweetened espresso and modify characteristics. Review: A very good upgrade over stock baskets - A very well made filter basket that is giving me consistent results. Fits my 58 mm portafiller perfectly and is ideal for my preferred 18.5 g dose. Review: verybarista IMS Big Bang Precision Filter - Although I have not been able to use these as yet, I think that they will do a great job. Unfortunatley, they don't quite fit into my portafilter. They won't push down far enough for me to be able to lock the portafilter into the group head. My options are to either spend more money and obtain a bottomless compatible portafilter and gamble if it will work with my machine, try to return them as they are not cheap to buy or keep them on the basis that my current espresso machine may not last a long as perhaps I would like it to (speaking from experience, 12 months seems to be the dead line literally). I know that if I were to purchase a good semi-professional or professional machine these filters will fit, but I might have to store them for some time before that prospect comes into fluition.
