Great glove
Great glove needs to be worked in as it’s pretty stiff but that was expected.

13" perfect for pitchers (light) in Men's slow-pitch softball, two practices in!
13" is perfect for Men's slow-pitch softball especially for pitchers, I'm a two in the pinky wearer. The quality of the premium leather is exceptional witch a big enough pocket. I was surprised how light it was compared to my other glove Mizuno 12.75” Pro Select Series Glove which is also an awesome glove but a little heavy for me for comebackers when pitching. I was a little skeptical with the adjustable strap behind the wrist afraid the straps will thin out over time, but I don't believe they will so quickly because you pretty much adjust once and leave it alone, not much stress on the straps because its stays fitted for the most part. Please only use Glovolium Glove Oil Advanced Formula by Rawlings which is made specifically for their leather gloves. I used boot grease on my Mizuno glove and might be the reason it is so heavy. I learned the hard way not to over oil my gloves, both old gloves are fantastic but much too heavy for the pitchers positions.

You get what you pay for... quality.
Got it at the beginning of the season this year and yeah it was slightly stiff but that's what you get when you get a premier glove its not a extremely soft to where it feels like a pillow and will get floppy a few weeks. This is a legit premier leather glove and over time it will feel more comfortable as it molds to your hand and play style. For me I'm playing 3rd base I wanted a stiff glove that gave me confidence that it'd hold it's shape and wouldn't just fold over after a few games or a season. I was still able to break it in in roughly 48 hours to where it was game ready. After about 20 games a dozens of practices there's very little wear and tear and it's still holding its shape as its designed to. You want your gloves to stay open stay stiff and close easily during your break-in process you don't want a pancake glove. You get what you pay for and with proper care this will EASIELY 5 to 10 years. It's a 5 out of 5 no question.

Quality Throughout
Having already owned two Player Preferred Rawlings gloves I decided to upgrade for a Heart of the Hide. The Player Preferred line is an excellent glove at a remarkable price; however the quality of the HOTH is undeniable. It requires a lot more breaking in than Player Preferred gloves because of the higher quality leather but think of it as an investment. This glove will last and last and maybe become a two generation glove.

Pro Grade Glove - Easy Break-in
One of the higher-end Rawlings gloves, it comes with the quality you'd expect. It offers a deep pocket that can nearly hide a 12" softball when closing it thumb-to-pinky. It has a comfortable pinky finger stall that is snug enough if you wear it traditional but is also wide enough if you want to wear it two-in-the-pinky, or even three fingers in the pinky as I'm wearing it for Slowpitch Outfield. The glove has the thick durable HoH feel but the palm is relaxed enough to allow for a very fast break-in and closed easily after just one session with a mallet. Surprised at how quickly it became game-ready and how well it can swallow the ball.

Buy a Rawlings… you can’t go wrong.
I loved my Rawlings gloves. The last one I bought was 14” steerhide American made with the most perfect pocket for a softball. I owned numerous gloves since I started playing at the age of 7 through HS to American Legion Ball then into my twenties thirties forties…I used other brands but my last glove the 14” Rawlings was my favorite. I think I paid $76 for it some 30 yrs ago. Sad to say it was stolen during my move from Chicago to Centerville, Ohio…back some years ago. I am still heartbroken and distraught that someone took a big part of my memories. So many baseball fields, teammates and coaches. Durability, comfort, break in and ease of use fit…you can’t buy a better glove. Rawlings is the just the best.
