WARNING: Be careful buying this from Amazon Resale. When I received it, someone had done a return fraud or an Amazon associate misplaced a Yamaha 66 key piaggero in the box. That was a bit shocking, a waste of time, and caused a charge on my card that is still there despite me dropping it off at UPS, pending 2 weeks to refund I assume, which always hurts my credit score short term. ($617 for "like new"). Ordered a new one instead which arrived 2 days later. Amazing piano for the price, got it on sale new for $650 before tax. Only thing from making it perfect is that it is made of plastic, partial wooden keys would've been better. The keys have a solid weight to them, however it does feel a little bit springy. I have a Yamaha N1X and those keys are much more natural to an acoustic. Several variation of sounds and it has a minimalist design to be used on a desk and a midi out port to work with DAWs. When using DAWs avoid using bluetooth earphones as it causes a 160ms delay as opposed to wired cable/ speakers with a 6ms delay. Was deciding between this and the Arturia Keylab 66 and 88 keys, and M-audio keyboards. Happy with my choice which took a few days to research, picture, and simmer. My usage case was primarily on a standing desk as a midi controller. Specifically chose this one because of the design and I personally own several Yamaha instruments and have always been pleased. The white is a beautiful color as well.

Arrived with the box so banged up I wondered if the product was damaged but it was OK. Got it together for my girl and she’s been playing it for several months. Sounds beautiful for an electric. If you’re cramped for space but your pianist needs to play at home, this is excellent. Weighted action, full sound. This will get you what you need for at least a beginner/early intermediate player, even more advanced intermediate until you can get an acoustic piano.

Im just starting to learn so I really like it, it sounds great but you do hear the keys clank. The keys work perfectly, assembly was easy and it seems very durable.

I have an acoustic piano, but I'm a night owl and wanted to be able to practice without disturbing other people. I tried a very low end partly weighted piano and found that it would not be suitable for practice because it would require a radically different touch for anyone going back and forth between that and the real thing. Next I considered the Yamaha P45 or P71, but when I learned that this one would work with the Yamaha software that expands its capabilities, I decided to spring for this. I have only had it a few days and haven't tried the software yet. I have an Android phone, and reviews from several years ago say that the software isn't great with Android, but I trust they've had time to iron out at least some of that problem. In any case, this sounds great to me and the keyboard feels wonderful. So far my only complaint is: What the heck were they thinking when most of the connections are hidden where I have to crouch down behind the thing to even see them? We have had a lot of thunderstorms lately, and I unplug every time I walk away. Doing that at the wall is also inconvenient in my set up, and I prefer to unplug the pedal and headphones also, rather than leave cords dangling. Even the headphone jacks, which are on the front, are below an overhang, out of sight. I didn't realize they were there and tried to use the headphones from the aux jack. If you do that, you might get a muffled sound from the headphones at best and think there's something wrong with them or the piano. The information is in the manual, but not terribly obvious. Follow the dots and lines. It came with a print manual, but in case anyone isn't aware, the Yamaha site has the manuals in PDF format - big and searchable - yay! I suppose hiding the plugs makes for a sleeker appearance, but function is more important to me. My suggestion for improving the design would be to hide the plugs on a horizontal surface behind the music rack if you must, but not out of reach. But don't change the music rack. It's good. It's not very tall, but I lived in a humid (floppy paper) part of the country and keep sheets in 9" x 12" sleeve binders that stand flat. Overall, I'm thrilled with this piano purchase so far. I'll update if there are problems down the road, but I don't anticipate any.

Upgraded from a 12 years old P95 digital piano that stopped working. All in all a real upgrade regarding touch, sound and futures. Keyboard feels a kind of stiff, maybe because of the short pivot (balance) point or might improve over time. Sound could be improved with more adjustable acoustic mechanical noises, but not included in this model. ( See below) A Yamaha embarrassment is the included sustain pedal, cheap plastic that moves all over the floor. Typical a cost saving measure, so buy an better one with your purchase. No display, adjustments are made with buttons and directed keys functioning as " switches" and verbally confirmed. A great free app is the Yamaha "smart pianist" app. Downloaded to your phone or tablet it can be used as a controller with a lot of extras, lessons etc. However, the available app for the P225 is a so called " light" version limiting a lot of extras. That's a bummer because real acoustical mechanic adjustments like damper and string noises could improve the naturalism of the piano sound and are not included in that version. When used in a DAW, the right audio drivers need to be found to avoid delays in the Midi response when using other Vst pianos etc. Recommended is a USB midi cable ( not included) to the laptop or pc not exceeding 3 feet of length.

Although it cannot match something like a Roland gp607, it holds its own in the quality of the piano sound engine and in my honest opinion outperforms similar models by Yamaha such as the DGX670. Its touch sensitive weighted keys mimic the touch of an acoustic piano well and does not have the springy feel of a lot of lower end pianos. Well worth the purchase.

Gran decepción me llevé al intentar activarla porque resulta que no está disponible en mi país (soy de méxico), pero siento que sería justo dado que compré el producto en una tienda de estados unidos, que respetaran este tipo de promociones o bien que hagan las aclaraciones pertinentes si saben que van a ofrecer el envío de sus productos a otros países con promociones que no serán válidas. Aún así mi piano me gusta mucho y trataré de sacarle el mayor provecho posible...

The sound is amazing, the keys feel great, and it looks fantastic. Honestly, there’s not much else to say—it’s a great option for the price, and we’re really happy with it. My husband, who has played for years, loves it, and as a beginner, I find it easy to learn on. We bought a foldable stand, but it doesn’t leave much space to reach the pedal, so we might upgrade to a better stand for easier access.
