AAR Tartans Kilt Flashes with Heavy Buckle Elastic Adjusters Fit

These are trash. My girlfriend siad they looked wierd ehen I opened the package. It is because they are far too big. Unless theyre supposed to match the size of your junk in wich case they are a modest amount too small. The flashes are about 3 inches too long and 5/8 of an inch too wide. The backing shows through so there are white stripes at the bottom of the red. (Tacky) and the pair come sewn together which means that one of the flashes will come unstiched very soon after cutting the thread to separate them. (Lazy) glue stain on the bottom end. (Sloppy) Cheap chinese elastic (scrooge McDuck status) I wish they had posted item dimensions instead of the package. I cant get over thus lazy stitch job. Is your sweat shop task master that much of a tyrant that you cant finish the stitch on the machine or at least backstitch it before you go onto the next one?Thank the flying spaghetti monster my lady is a whizz at sewing. Resizing them shouldn't be too hard i guess but they are all wrong in so many ways. Buckles are good though and for those who are ignorant (no offense) lossen them if the buckles dig into your skin or flip them around so the hook faces outwards. And the edges are supposed to be unfinished. They are supposed to fray a bit because the material then emulates the historic/formal style garter ties which had tassels on the end. Also Using velcro for flashes is a cardinal sin. So at least they did that right. Still though these are terrible.

The flashes are to go with a kilt, sash & shawl I have of MacKenzie tartan. I am so happy to wear my Scottish gear whenever I decide to do so. I recently attended a local gala for our local Opera's 40th Anniversay (for 4 seasons I sang in the chorus for this group!) I wore a formal version of my Scottish kit! It went over quite well at the Gala. When asked about it, I am able to share with others my admiration for my family background. I have been totally surprised to find out how many people of Scotch, Irish & Welsh backgrounds live in this area of Southwest Missouri. You truly can show your Scottish pride without breaking the bank.

One pair got lost in shipping. The second arrived no problem. Seems nice but the metal clasp that holds them closed seems as though it may dig into the legs.Apparently they won’t let you do a separate review for every individual item order from them. I figured it was worth trying to order something else, but apparently no matter what shade you order you’re going to get bottle green. These flashes were supposed to be much lighter in the picture shows them to be much lighter, but apparently they only carry bottle green.

It was difficult to find plain white flashes, but that's what I wanted to go with my white kilt and white shoes. These were great, and worked perfectly. If there is any negative I could say is that they are a little stiff compared to another set of higher quality flashes I purchased. I ultimate chose these because they worked better with my outfit. Would recommend if you're looking for plain white flashes.

Oh WOW! I bought these expecting them to be light and tight, but the elastic has a comfortable give and velcro enclosures so they stay over my stockings perfectly and don't bind my legs uncomfortably. I hardly knew they were on once I folded down my stocking tops! The colour was a tad darker than the picture, which matched the rest of my tartans PERFECTLY! I would highly recommend these to anyone!

Way too big, as stated by another reviewer. Looks comical hanging out and down so low below kilt hose. I had to shorten them up by stitching another area for the elastics to go through below the existing one, then cut the top part off. This shortens them up by more than an inch. They are very rough overall. Serviceable wit h a bit of DIY repairs though.

My experience is that they are a fine product at a good price. And when worn as intended under the fold of hose they are well sized. I would absolutely recommend to anyone not needing something higher in quality of materials. For my occasional use, they are perfect!
