how big is doorway in cage?

It's about 6" wide. My tortoise is two years old, grows slowly, and still fits through it.

Can you switch which way it opens? I’d like to put the hutch on the left hand side but still be able to open it.

Yes, but the holes are not prefabricated.

Can i use this without the divider?

No then it would not stay together
