Good fantasy written years ago
I read this book many years ago when it was first published and decided to read it again. I found it still very enjoyable after all the years since I first read it...it has aged very well. I don't think this book is as good as the first book in the series, but it is still a very good book. I do recommend reading the prior books in this series first.Karl continues his battle against the slavers guild and in the process finds himself involved in the war between two small countries. At "Home" their home base is now a growing community and politics become part of the equation as new comers bring up a vote to oust Ahira as the mayor of "Home."

Guardians of the Flame book three
If you enjoy tabletop classic DnD you will love this series. The third continuation of the Karl Cullinane saga that is light and easy to enjoy with deeper undertones of freedom, the evils of slavery, and of course magic 🪄 and dragons 🐉 anyone who appreciates Earagorn will love Ellegon!

Fun characters, plenty of action, and a 300 year old baby dragon.

I have read it 3 times in the last 3 years
Good character development. Describes difficult situation with both seriousness and humor. Deals with both military strategy and human power struggles. Sex is referenced, rather than written about explicitly.Even if you don't like the fantasy genre, you will enjoy the adventure. This author writes a story like David Niven (although, Niven is a sci-fi author)

The Sword and the Chain Redux
The Silver Crown is no worse and no better than The Sword and the Chain. Like its immediate predecessor, it seems to have no real theme other than the use of violent means to achieve noble ends. The promising theme of The Sleeping Dragon - the adaptation of people from our world to a fantasy world - has been all but abandoned. What we are left with is not much more than entertainment; enjoyable but neither provocative nor moving. To be fair, there is a suggestion that the true plot of the series is a long-term effort by erstwhile professor Deighton to control the fantasy world. Deighton even makes an appearance in The Silver Crown. It could be that an incredibly complex storyline is about to emerge, in which case my opinion of books two and three may have to be revisited. For now, however, I remain of the view that The Silver Crown is a harmless read that should be enjoyed by most fantasy readers who don't mind a bit of violence in their stories.

As to go guys
I found this book, the third in the series entertaining as I did the first two. Fun to read and not too much to doing heavy thinking over.

Read this one first
I stumbled upon this one in a charity shop abroad, very cheap and I needed something to read. I remember sitting on a beach and just letting the day pass me by whilst I devoured this book. It wasn't long before I have the whole series.
