Yes, car freshies can also fit in these bags.

Not sure, I use mine for car freshies.

Can these be opened with out tearing them at the little notch?

Yes they can! They have the Ziploc that you can open and then close. I use these to put my epoxy glitter pens in. Once I am finished with the pens I just put one in and then heat seal the notch with my flat iron to seal them in the bag.

Superb little things organizers

I have an immense 40-year collection of buttons and needed to organize them for button art. These Mylar bags were tremendously effective. I had trouble opening them which ironically was helpful later in keeping items sealed well. I’ve also used these Mylar bags for making coffee bean samples to share with my family. I love the feature of one side visible only making it easier to highlight items inside. Superb product!
