Is it good for two rabbits?

Maybe if they are dwarfs. You should have 1 square foot of floor space per rabbit.

Can it be adapted to add a screen for more ventilation on the top level? We live in a warm climate and need more air up top where our bunny sleeps.

I was disappointed that the top was completely close in, but decided to keep this hitch inside. I'm not sure how you could adapt this one.
