The original catch is small and once the slide bar is out of alignment even the smallest degree, the latch is almost impossible to use. So I looked for something different. I found this and, although I will be using the bar part for another gate, it’s the catch section I I used on the fence, and now there is enough room for the original slide bar, even if it is pushed out of alignment.
