is this the type of batting to use with microwave bowl pads or microwave potato baker bags? Thanks for your help!!

Yes it is the kind to microwave but the item you are creating must be 100% cotton and any type of thread or material must be 100% cotton as well.

Is this good for use in pot holders?

I have used it to make bowl cozies that go in the microwave, I don't know about for potholders, I use insulbrite for that

Is this type of batting different from quilter's all cotton batting? Are they interchangeable?

This product is 100% Cotton Batting with out Scrim, and that is the only type of batting that can be used in the microwave.

I want to get this for soup bowl holders. My question is, will i need to use this single or double it? Im not sure how thick it.is.

My pattern for the soup bowl cozy has a piece of the wrap-n-zap sewn to the top piece and another one sewn to the bottom piece. So I guess it is double when you are through.
