ClawJaw Doggy Door for Wall Metal Frame & Telescopic Tunnel

I have had this unit installed for a year now. We got the extra large for our 160 lb German shepherd. This would have had a higher rating if it were not for the flimsy panels. In the first month, the panel we used outside cracked and became unusable. A month later, the one we used inside chipped on both corners making them really hard to put in. And the metal brackets you slide into, along with the flimsy panel material both contributed to the issues. The telescoping door is very well made so the way they designed the panels is truly disappointing. This is an update - while yes, the panels are flimsy, the customer service is spectacular. As soon as I identified the problem, then began work on sending out replacement items. Moved the stars back to 5 because of the great responsiveness of the company! Unlike their competitors, they do not appear to have replacement panels for sale. I have a question out to the company to see if I can get replacement panels and will update this based upon their response. I will say that I will not buy from this company again should I not be be able to get a replacement. Instead will buy from their competitors who have replacements (probably the company with metal panels, which makes so much more sense when getting extra large doors for extra large pets).

Great! Easy to install. You drill your pilot holes for screws or use rivets (all supplied). My 10 yr old grandson (with supervision) installed. Both cat and dog use it.

EDIT: Excellent customer service. Super fast replacement shipping. Great communication. Do indeed recommend this company because of it. Unfortunately this product is not as advertised. Our has rusted terribly after 8 months of use, now it’s just horrible 2 years in and needs replaced. Both flaps have now ripped off entirely and there are no large replacement flaps available. Seller - please contact me.

I really like this dog door, but it was not problem free. Home: SoCal (fair weather), stucco and drywall wall with cellulose insulation. This doggie door replaces the one in the sliding glass door insert. I wanted to put this door against the stud as it was preferred location and added strength. So I used metal screws, rather than the included pop rivets. For ease of install, I removed the flaps. All additional materials I got at my local Ace Hardware. Some notes about the installation that may be helpful. . Metal screws used in tunnel: 1" to stud, others 3/4". 2 screws/side, including top. . Clamped shell pieces at corners, not center as shown. WAY easier to put screws in tunnel . Recommendation to put outdoor carpet in tunnel with 2-sided Gorilla tape silenced the dog nail on metal noise which spooked my dogs . I found the cellulose insulation simply stayed in place which was a blessing. . One of the flap assemblies came apart, as many have said, but I fixed by drilling 1/8" hole in back and used larger metal screw which tapped into the Al. . I loved the DAP Dynaflex 230 clear caulk... goes on white, cleans with water, and dries clear. . Reassembling the flap holder takes some practice. Beware it's Al and screws are steel. . FYI the shells are steel, as are the flap assembly screws. The flap holders are Al. . I cut drywall with jigsaw with small wood blade. Recommendation to tape plastic down first made cleanup easy. . I cut stucco hole with cordless grinder with diamond blade. So glad for the recommendation to tape plastic over inside hole first! I used dog food bag for cover, as I had to remove this multiple times for fitting the shells correctly. . I redid measure on dog's belly by using cardboard with level against the wall , rather than the tape measure as shown in manual. 1.5" lower... a big deal for medium dogs. The installation was doable, but not easy. WAY easier with a handy 2nd person. The included installation guide, and the Amazon video were very short on details... like aligning the Cutting Template on outside wall... and re-aligning outside. Also there is NO customer service... you're on your own.

Have the small door for our two mini golden doodles. Works great. We did have a couple of problemss, where the flap magnet would stick to side, holding the door partially open. Double checked the alignment, and was correct. Trimed the magnet by 1/4 inch on both sides to correct this problem. Also, the screws hold the flap in are very small, also set into Aliminum, so they will strip out easily. Here I drilled new holes through the bracket and flap to correct this. We are only using one flap (outer) on this dog door. One of our dogs is a little nervous when we had both flaps. Still does a good job of keeping the cold and bugs outside. Still gave the door a 5 star rating, working great after a year

Edited again to put the 1 star rating back and say the second doggie door that was sent the flap also broke off within months. I do not want another one of these doors. They use rivets instead of screws to secure into the frame of the house so it is not easy to replace. It’s super annoying that you have to replace the entire doggie door for one flap. I ended up buying another brand that was much easier to install and seems a lot more study. I would not recommend this door. It’s nice the seller replaced the last one but it’s honestly not worth the headache and would rather just have a door that lasts longer than a few months. Also my dog learned how to slide the lock door open when it was closed. She’s pretty smart but it also doesn’t have a lock, so if you have a mischievous dog that may happen. Edited to say the seller reached out to me after my review. They are sending me a new dog door. I changed my review from one star to 3 based on the sellers response. Just wish I didn’t have to change out the door. The outside flap fell off after only 5 months. We tried to put it back on but the metal piece that the screw goes into is striped so it won’t stay on. This is very frustrating because I believe I need a whole new dog door just because of the flap. There’s no option to contact the seller. Hoping I they reply to this to see if there’s a replacement piece. I can’t believe what a flimsy piece holds the door flap on. This goes into the wall so to replace it, it’s not an easy job, they should make this more durable.

Does not let heat or cold. The flaps seem snug and are not see through. Can tell there is sunlight. Easy to install. My dog loves it . Does away with having to let the dog out every few minutes.

Heel blij met deze katten deur. Levertijd was zeer redelijk, zeker gezien het feit dat deze helemaal uit Amerika moest komen. Deze deur zullen ze niet snel slopen 😉

Je l’ai monté dans un mur plus profond sans problème. Mes chats n’ont pas mis trop longtemps à s’y habituer en mettant des croque dans le tunnel ils y arrivent vite.

La usé para mi perro que es grande y la instalaron en pared, el material de la puertita resiste muy bien al material de construcción y a lo rudo que es mi perro al entrar y salir por ahí. La recomiendo mucho.
