Really nice lock that was very easy to install. Plenty sturdy for my use as a Chicken Coop door latch.

Perfect for my barn/shed - works as a lock and a handle. Hard to open accidentally. You can use a padlock with it as well, if need be.

Looks and functions great. It does however rust. Not a quality stainless steel.

Purchased a few of these latches for my new shed to match the other black metal hardware on the shed. They match perfectly and are very high quality. The latch movement is smooth if installed properly. Great price for high quality hardware.

We installed these for our chickens after a raccoon climbed up the coop, opened one of our simple slide locks and got in to our hens. We lock the padlock hole with 3 inch Ahiller Double Locking Carabiners (also on Amazon) and now our hens are secure. Easy install, sturdy, can be used either direction.

Great quality with locking option, would buy again

Unlike many other slide bolts on Amazon, this is actually made out of stainless steel. Many on Amazon says it is stainless steel, when it actually is just chrome plated steel. While, the slide bolt is made out of stainless steel, supplied screws are tin plated screws. Depending on the quality of plating, it may be ok, but too early to tell. In my opinion, screws should be stainless steel as well. If the screws start to rust, I will replace them.

Well it keeps the gate closed and locked, just what it is supposed to do, it is stainless bonus when you live near salt water. Easy to install, nice piece.
