Le Creuset Enamel On Steel Whistling Tea Kettle, 1.7 qt., Marseille

This kettle works perfectly. It looks and feels like quality. I don't get why it would have any bad reviews. It's pouring perfectly, the lid fits perfectly and is well designed, it boils water fast, the whistle sounds good and is loud, the handle and spout lid do not get too hot to touch. There are recommended care instructions thar are completely reasonable. Don't use a burner that is too big for the kettle and don't let the flames wrap around the sides. While not using it, don't keep water in it. Don't just leave it on the heat when it's done boiling. All reasonable. It's a really nice kettle and if you don't want to have to care about keeping it in good condition then just get a different cheap kettle. I love it.

I love so many things about this kettle. 1. It’s pretty and is a lovely addition to my kitchen aesthetic. 2. I like the sound of the whistle 3. It’s easy to clean 4. The handle stays cool so it’s easy to pour. 5. The size is just right for me and my company - serves 6 easily. What I wish was different- I wish it had a mechanism to access pour spout from the handle. It’s separate so you have to open the pour spout with your finger. Not so bad, bc the pour spout stays cool as well. One thing to be careful with- wait a few seconds before you pour the water out. Water has a tendency to sputter from the spout, at times. Can splash you, if you aren’t careful. For me, this is just normal tea kettle activity!

So far so good on this tea kettle! The sticks drove me nuts with the residue they left, but I eventually got it fully removed after several scrubs in hot soapy water (what a pain, though). I love the color, the weight, and the design. And it works great.

This tea kettle is BEAUTIFUL and truly my favorite looking one. After spending a lot of time looking for our special tea kettle we finally decided to spend extra on this one that would last us a long time, years at least! In a few months we noticed after taking especially great care of it that rust spots were starting to form on the bottom of the INSIDE of the tea kettle where we drink our water from. No matter what we did to gently clean and dry and take care of it, it continued to show new spots of rust in various places all around the inside of the tea kettle. I tried to return but it was past the return window so they did not help me initially and told me I had to contact the company who made it. So I did! I called Le Creuset and also sent emails with pictures and explanation. They responded with the fact that they will not be able to give me a refund but a new kettle. I do not want another expensive and beautiful DEFECTIVE tea kettle. I want one that does not rust easily. They didn’t care to give me a refund because it had been a few months and purchased through Amazon. I thought these companies would stand by their products but no. Now, an Amazon rep I messaged said they would give me a return code…. YAY! But I didn’t realize and was not told they would DEDECT $30 from my refund amount when I return the kettle for a restocking fee (as I questioned to another rep who did not help me waive this fee) they said it was after 30 days so there is nothing that can be done even with a defective product. This was expensive and time consuming and incredibly frustrating. What a waste of time. I wish Le Creuset stood by their products, I was sadly mistaken. Same with Amazon. If anyone has advice on how to fix this situation without losing a chunk of money that is unfair to pay a restocking fee for, I’d appreciate some help. Save yourself the headache and do not buy this. Thank you for listening. Ps it also drips everywhere it isn’t supposed to when pouring out of the spout. It’s terrible.

Holds ample water to fill my French Press. I didn't realize the first time that I would need a potholder or cloth to grab the handle, but it makes sense. I'm very happy with it.

I get to look at and use this beauty everyday. It whistles like a dream, especially love the pour. Feels sturdy and I expect this to last years. Well worth the purchase! .

The good the bad and the ugly. The good: It's lovely. Matches my other Le Creuset and is close enough to my Lodge, all in red or Cherise. It's sturdy, no flaws in the coating or anything that I think could cause problems like rusting. Pouring is drip free. I've seen issues in reviews, but I think this is the newer model. Generously sized. Bigger than I expected for 1.7 qt. The bad: The handle is tall enough that pouring is awkward. The stickers were attached with remarkably stubborn adhesive. I had to soak them for a while in hot soapy water to get them off. The Ugly: The whistle assembly is attached crooked. Seriously for a kettle at this price point, that is just plain unacceptable. Points to possible quality control issues that I would never expect from the Made in France cast iron from the same company I've been using for 20 years. It would be 5 star if it was cheap chinese crap, but this is a pricey unit. It should never have left the factory with a crooked whistle spout. So one star off. It works great, looks good, and I've already used it a bunch. I really want to give it a 5 star, but I just can't.

Stunning just to look at. Perfectly functional. Removable lid. Great whistle. Large but sized right for a 4 burner stove. Handle stays cool enough to grab and pour. The enamel coated inside is the icing on this gorgeous cake. My bf won’t use metal anything when cooking so this meets his criteria and frankly, hot water poured from its spout just tastes better. Based on the cost of a good pot of similar size, I’d say this kettle is priced right. I was extremely careful washing it. I don’t know how resilient the glossy exterior enamel is, and I don’t want to find out. Very happy with my purchase.

Don’t buy this kettle—it only looks nice. Mine started rusting within just a couple of months, despite only using filtered water.
