My favorite All Clad panini grill pan isn't induction compatible. I know cast iron grill pans are an obvious option but as I get older I find that the weight of cast iron is difficult for me to manage. I got this in order to allow me to still use my panini pan. Pros: - love the detachable handle that allows for flat, easy and efficient storage - it works! It does diffuse the heat a bit, so I have to set my burner at a higher level than I would if I wasn't using this, but it works. - I've used it for about a month now. I've not needed to wash it because it's completely covered by the grill pan and there haven't been any spills to necessitate washing. - I also see no evidence of delamination or splitting, which seems to be a common complaint of diffusers of any brand. I do just leave this on the cooktop after cooking and let it cool on its' own. Perhaps delamination is triggered by temperature shock caused by taking it off the cooktop and immersing or running under cold water right away? - works great as a diffuser - - used it with my butter warmer and it kept the temp at a nice, low and even temp Cons: - The only cons I can think of is that it is a diffuser and if you're using it as an induction adapter, you need to be aware that the heat level needs to be raised to offset this. Very happy with this for a way to still use favorite pans without having to deal with the weight of cast iron alternatives.

i would strongly advise anyone - DON'T WASTE THE MONEY on this thing. i bought it to use on my induction burner so i could use a couple of ceramic pots which are coated inside and out and won't connect with the induction burner. ANYWAY - i put this thing on the induction burner - put one of the pots on top of it - burner said; "NOPE, I AINT ALLOWING THIS" - it turned itself off - did NOT like that - THING. AND - it won't work on a regular electric stove burner either - it's impossible to make it sit level. i guess it COULD work on a gas stove burner, but what would be the point of that? this one i'm "reviewing" is actually the second one - the first one i got was USED and i do NOT buy ANYTHING 'used', so i sent it back and when i got the NEW one i tried it and NOPE - i guess it overheated the induction burner. the pots and pans i DO use on the induction all the time are fine - they never cause it to turn itself off after 2 or 3 minutes.

I bought this specifically to use non-indiction pans on an induction hotplate. It does work for that, but it gets very hot during use may discolor after use. Before using, wash it well and give it a GOOD SCRUB. I neglected to do this and it caused quite a noxious odor. Washing it should stop that odor. The handle is well designed - NEVER leave the handle attached while cooking or it will get HOT. The biggest thing to remember is that it IS hot - during and after use. If you move it before it has fully cooled, be sure to put it on a very heat-proof surface until it has cooled! The thing to realize, though, is that this will not be as fast as usual indiction cooking because the heat has to travel through this plus your pan itself.

My big 20 quart stock pot that I use for certain occasions, like St. Patty's Day, turned out to be incompatible with my new induction cooktop. This adapter did the trick to make the pot usable again. Although, heating is noticeably less efficient. When using the adapter It takes a higher heat setting and a little more time to get water to boil and stay boiling. But, this wasn'tmuch of an issue for me. Be sure to use it with the correct side facing up-- the side with the word UP etched onto it. When I accidentally placed it upside down it caused the stovetop to turn off and a error code appeared on the display.

We bought a house that had an induction cook top. Side note: I would not recommend this type of cooktop. Mainly because you have to buy special pans that are not as readily available. Plus they usually cost more. And what’s the benefit of induction? I have yet to hear a good reason did it. Anyway, if you are stuck with one, this adapter works really well with it. Our big burner would not turn on because our pan wasn’t the exact size of the circle. We bought this metal circle which covers the space exactly and now we can use whatever size pan we want in that burner. I did spill on the adapter immediately, so it looks terrible from the get go. Yes I cleaned it but it’s stained and I’m not going work that hard making it look new. I’m not sure how it compares to normal heat for quick boiling and all that. I just know it makes the burner usable and I can cook food with it. Can you tell I hate cooking?

The quality and durability of this item is questionable. After using only 3 or 4 times the diffuser plate has begun to delaminate. Unfortunately, I have had this item in my possession for over 5 weeks. This has happened to another diffuser plate that I ordered at the same time. These were the two smaller plates, the 7.9" and this 6.3". I

Meine Mutter hat nun eine neue Küche mit Induktionsherd bekommen. Viele ihrer Töpfe waren leider dafür nicht geeignet. Mit der Wärmeverteiler-Platte kann sie alle ihre Töpfe weiter nutzen. Die Platte ist solide verarbeitet und verteilt die Hitze gleichmäßig. Sie braucht etwas Zeit zum Aufheizen, hält dafür aber die Wärme lange konstant. Insgesamt ein praktisches Küchenhilfsmittel mit gutem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

I've been using induction cooking for around 15 years now and recently inherited a few excellent quality pans that I was quite upset to find didn't work on induction hobs. When I saw this adapter I thought it seemed like it would be easy to store and easy to use. Worth a punt. When the adapter arrived, I was very impressed with the look and feel of it - it feels and looks very well made. Proof of the pudding as they say. Time to try it out. There is a warning which states to NOT plonk the adapter on the hob and whack up the power (I'm paraphrasing of course), but I couldn't help but give it a few seconds to see how long it took to heat up. At this point I'd say - don't just plonk the adapter on the hob and whack up the power. It heats up fast. Very fast. So time to put a pan on and I have to say I'm very impressed with this thing. As it does heat up quickly, it means the pan also takes the heat quickly. Obviously it's not quite the same as direct heat on a gas or electric (yuck) hob but it actually works surprisingly well and it does mean I can get the use of my nice inherited pans. Excellent.

This works very well, it is good to have a removable handle for storage.
