This is a wonderful book on the history of South Carolina Low country baskets. I purchased a basket several years ago and am now knowledgeable about the people that make them. The book is special and will remain with my basket as a collectable.

Wonderful collection and reference material to rare works of art.

I found the writing to be clear and lively. Most important, the facts are reliable and presented in a orderly manner.

Tells the story of how a culture survived and adapted to new surroundings. The story of its basketry is the central vehicle. Of interest to those who like basketweaving and those who like stories of different peoples cultures.

I ordered this book as a gift for a friend. She loves it!
