Hi! We're Alicia & Kevin, owners of Crimson & Clove. We started this company because we love travel and try to re-create some of our best culinary memories in our own kitchen. One of our favorite places we have ever been is Japan. While there, we had the opportunity to try many restaurant versions of Shichimi Togarashi and were even lucky enough to enjoy a few homemade blends. Togarashi is blend of seven spices commonly used in Japan. It is always based around a spicy, ground red chili pepper but many varieties exist. This is our homage to one of our favorite places and spice blends. We love to sprinkle Crimson & Clove Shichimi Togarashi over homemade ramen, white rice, scrambled eggs or even popcorn. It also makes a great rub for grilled chicken or veggies. Hand packed and sealed in reusable glass jars--the opening is big enough to grab a pinch or even use a teaspoon. We pack in small batches so you can be assured the spice you are getting is fresh, flavorful and aromatic. You'll smell and taste the difference right away. You care about what you eat. We do too.
