I used clear adhesive tape on the edges for an extra seal, then used adhesive, sealant mastic in the grooves on the frame and underneath once fitted. It's very light in the box but once assembled is actually quite sturdy and once securely fixed to the wall does a more than adequate job of keeping the rain off the doorstep and keeping me dry! note: it does take two people to get the canopy marked out and bolted onto the wall - it's too big to hold with one hand and mark out or screw in despite its light weight.
