Originally released in October 1956, 'Ella and Louis' is a studio album accompanied by the Oscar Peterson Quartet. Producer Norman Granz selected eleven ballads for Fitzgerald and Armstrong, mainly played in a slow or moderate tempo. Astonishing artists and remastering!!!
This is a comennt on cd with ASIN number B000AXZCPK. The music is great for any music lover of Ella and Louis, yes. But what it is outstanding and spectacular is the recording and the remastering that leaves me absolutely astonished!!!! Having into account that the recording was done 60 years ago and the voices come from the cd as if they truly were at your living room. Y have check different recordings, modern and old, amnd still the quality of the sound leaves me motionless. So I am sorry to disagree with the guy that gave 3 stars to this cd. So if this cd would be "one to have" if you like jazz, Louis and Ella, then it becomes an absolute jewel once you listen the abslute quality of the recording. (amplifier Luxman and bose 301 speakers)

The perfect album for good friends =)
Recently played this to my new partner as we stayed in a gorgeous country hotel, after dinner and drinks obviously, and soon we were both up and dancing just like they used to in the old days, cheek to cheek. Yes it is perfect listening when you have company, however it is also the perfect album for a cosy night on your own. I love this album so so much. Ella and Louis are the perfect match, ella has such a wonderfully silky smooth voice while her counterpart louis is as gravelly and gruff as one can imagine. This really is such a wonderful album and should be in any serious music fans collection!
