I clean with a few ounces of of household vinegar and an equal amount of water. Leave in for 5 minutes and them use a plastic sponge to clean residue, then rinse. Don't know about the others

can i use it to make essential oils ?

This is only for water purification so far but you can check with the manufacturer if your idea could work too. Perhaps oil will stay in & water evaporate to the glass outlet, could have quality problem.

My CO-Z the start button worked about 4 times then stopped altogether. I sent ours back an ordered another one it was cheaper but the starter button was better than the one I got from Banyon. We got a Mophorn pure water distiller it cost only $73.88 the start button it was better. We have not had a problem with this one.
