I tried them before installing. Bright, true red and blue and different functions. Small kit to bolt it into place as well. I installed it with the double sided that came with it I didn't use the bolting down kit. The adhesive is actually pretty strong, and perfect location for my vehicle (frontier) ran the wiring, through the firewall and used the 12v, hard wiring wouldn't work, everything was great and many of the officers that I did details with liked the strip over having a couple of blocks on the side.
